This is so outrageous! AmeriTrain in Atlanta closed before I could finish my courses! I too signed up under that all-to-familiar high pressure sales tactic. They are soooo smooth. I was wanting, like so many other students, to finish or re-phase the MCSE class at a more "reasonable" pace.
The boot camps are way, way too intense for those who are familiar in this field, let alone newbies! It's true...the reading demands and no time to properly absorb the material in their boot-camps makes this "school scam" a perfect income producing cow for AmeriTrain.
I feel so stupid for going against my better judgement and not signing on to a traditional computer accredited school. AmeriTrain cares absolutely nothing for the students, but rather focused on how much human dollar signs they could crank through their doors.
Ok, so they say they can help place you in a job. HA! Their idea of career assistance or job placement is to simply post on their breakroom bulletin board jobs right out of our local newspaper or local websites.
The classes are so poorly designed that I KNOW that any knowledge that I gained from this whole experience was obtained solely on my own. The only way anyone could pass ANY of the exams was not through the high dollar books we paid for at AmeriTrain, but rather the materials I obtained either at a local bookstore or on-line study chats and practice exams! My instructors could have cared less if I passed or passed-out in class!!
The very worse part of this long-winded story is the fact that I sold a very rare motorcycle to pay off my SML loan because the interest rate was so high!
Well, any suggestions now?? SML REALLY has my $$ - the whole thing!
Anyone else in Atlanta want to see what we can organize and do about this??

Yes, I am a little late with this rebuttal. But, whoever trying to sue Mark Powell for 100,000 must be crazy and out of their mind! SLM is begging for dear life seems like. They can make this a easier process if they would just go ahead and discharge and refund all the money back that student owes right to themselves for the hard work, effort, time, and loss time concerning these issues! The whole thing is ludacris how people can be so devious and not care about the well being of education in itself, people like SLM. They seem up front like they are the ones thats trying to help out with your education, but, yet they can turn around with your hard earned time and money... only to stick it to ya! That shows you where their mind and heart is; its in their pocket! Like I said, they can make this a much easier process if they would just go ahead and do whats right. Its not worth it if they try to fight the Truth.
