In the month of August I noticed three separate late charges on my Bank Of America credit card account even though I knew I had paid these payments well before the due date. I called up Bank Of America to find out why this was happening. The receptionist told me no matter what way you pay your Bank Of America Credit card, whether you went into a branch, paid by mail or paid on the website, there was a chance that it could take anywhere from 2 to 5 business days for the transaction to go through. She dropped the late charges for me but next month was even worse.

I had closed my Bank of America checking and savings accounts because for whatever reason I was getting charged $5.00 a month for having them open. I signed on to the Bank Of America web page that month to pay my bill to see a bank payment setup form. I filled out this form, made my monthly payment and went about my business for a couple weeks. Then I received my bank statement in the mail for the next billing period stating that I had not made payment. I checked my email for a confirmation email for my last payment and there was none. The late payment put me over my limit and then the fees continued to roll in. I went straight to the website to find out how much I owed. The website told me 260.00 minimum. I went to a bank of america branch to pay the bill. the bank teller also told me that the minimum due was 260.00. I put down 300.00 just in case.

Well next month I received another statement saying my account was overdue again! Also once again my account was overdrawn. So this time I called the number on the card for assistance. This is what I was told. The woman on the phone told me the minimum amount on my card due last payment wasn't 260.00. It was 420.00 She also told me I would've known this if I looked on my paper statement. I asked her why a teller and the website would tell me the wrong amount. She never gave me any real explanation, she just repeated if I looked on the paper statement I would've seen that amount due. Now I owe another 120.00 right now on top of what I had just paid and owe 260.00 next statement totaling $680.00 that this company expects me to be able to come up with in one month's time. The 120.00 is due immediately and 260.00 is due in October.
