I sent this email to my local Chase Bank in Gahanna OH on Hamilton Rd

I want you to know what kind of business chase is conducting. First I will tell you that Chase does nothing for the customer, it is really all about Chase and how they can collect massive amounts of fees from the poorest people in the country, the people that can't afford to see doctors and the people that barely have enough money to live each day. It is ashame that they conduct that kind of business and it is a fact that without 38 billion in fees chase would not profit, in fact they would lose money. So what that tells me is chase cannot do business well enough to profit but they can do steal from the most needy people in the country.

I am doing everything I can to make my business grow and the whole time I am fighting with chase to do it, you are not helping me, you are not fighting for me. Chase is simply taking from me and my family.

I came in and told you that I was getting evicted because of a invalid charge, I had the paper right there the first time I met with you. You apparently did not care. Because now a motion has been filed for me to move out of my house and the only thing I can do to save my business is to move into my store and sleep in the back room. Now I know you don't care enough and probably will just take this email and trash it but, I am at least doing what I feel is right by letting you know what your lack of fight has done for me.

I had a mis-charge on Sept 1, chase said they cant do anything about it because they cannot prove that I don't owe the money, and I told chase to produce evidence that I do owe the money. Well after being lied to 2 times and told I would get all of the money and fees back, chase kept everything and paid the company. You helped put me in this situation, not personally but you represent the company as a branch manager.

Now fast forward to today Oct 7th..... chase is not allowed to charge more than 3 overdrafts a day so what did they do to take advantage of me more than 105. They rejected 3 things so they could get 210.00 in 1 day. Thats cheating and taking advantage again. You (chase) are helping me fail, you are putting me out of business to make profits and even more importantly think of all of the poor people who have to go through this. Well I am fighting back, for myself and for the people who can't fight for them self. I am going to make my situation heard not only on my behalf but for the day to day stacks of money you just take from people without spending a moment to help them. Chase has taking thousands from me because they cash the high items first and then all of the 3 and 4 dollar items stack for 35 dollar fees each. You should not be allowed to take more than you paid.

I am copying a lot of people on this email, and I don't plan to stop here, I am writing all of our congress people and our governor and our US senator. I am going to keep up the pressure until you guys actually help us.

Thanks Darren

this may help...

AUTHOR: Ronny g - (USA)

If the "mischarge" you speak of is legitimately a mischarge..or an unauthorized use of the account..the bank of course does not want to help you...is is easier and more profitable for them to just cover it..charge you all the associated fees..and tell you to go eat rocks...

But the bank has to help..they are partially responsible..

I copied this from another report. It is advice of what to do in cases like this when the bank turns their back on you. It was written by the founder of this website....

Editor's Suggestions on how to get your money back! HERE IS WHAT RIP-OFF REPORT SUGGESTS YOU DO: Go to your bank within 60 days of the charge, or as soon as you know about the charge, don't delay, and tell them that there has been fraudulent activity within your account. Explain that you wish to file a dispute, and demand that they assist you in accordance with Federal Regulation E. According to the majority of victims interviewed by Rip-off Report, those who immediately called their banks to dispute the charges did not get very far. Many victims got the following responses from their banks: we could not do anything for you or you waited too long; it has been more than 60 days. If the bank is says that you have waited too long, explain to them how you called their 800 number as soon as the charges were found, and were told by the bank that nothing could be done. Remind the bank that they failed to assist you properly at the 800 #, and instead, provided you with an inadequate explanation of your right to dispute. Tell the bank that it's their fault time has expired, and since they gave you the wrong info to begin with, they will just have to deal with it, take the loss and reverse the charges. Tell them the truth; this was unauthorized and your account was NOT to be charged! Keep emphasizing how you never authorized anything! Direct them to the hundreds of victims reports that were filed on Rip-off Report.com. And if you're at the bank, walk them over to their computer and make them go to this site! If you are on the phone with them, tell them you will wait while they access this site! Either way, be persistent! DO NOT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER! Let them know nicely, that you were advised to Report them (the Bank) and this situation to the Banking Commission in your state. Since each state has a different name for the agency/controller over banks, find that name before you call or get to the bank so you can throw it in their face. The more knowledgeable you appear to be, the further you will get. And just continue to demand the Federal Regulation E form! The bank CAN, MUST and WILL reverse the charge! But, you must be persistent; ask to speak to the supervisor or the area manager for all the branches in the state. Let the bank personnel know you are meeting with the media later in the day, that you would much rather they do the right thing (as most other banks have) by looking at the complaints and immediately reversing the charge(s) to your account; no matter how long ago it was. Be sure to call the Media if necessary so you are telling the truth. If you have to, be loud (but nice) in front of other customers. If you are just calling by phone, the above tactics should still work. The bank can easily fax or mail to you the Federal Regulation E dispute form. CHARGES TO YOUR CREDIT CARD If the charge was to your credit card (not debit card, check card, or checking account), contact the credit card company as soon as possible to request a dispute form. Consumers usually have a little longer to dispute fraudulent credit card charges (up to 6 months), but it is better to act right away. In this type of situation, credit card disputes are usually successful since fraudulent companies often won't contest the disputed charge. In rare cases, credit card companies will review disputes, but refuse to reverse the charges. If this occurs, complain to a manager and let them know you will be filing a report here. Remember Don't let them get away with it! Make sure they make the Rip-off Report .. The more Reports filed on a Company or individual, the more likely it is that the authorities, media and attorneys will want to take action. And good luck Let us know how you do! Ripped off by NSF Fees from Banks

AUTHOR: Concerned - (USA)

Have you been ripped off with ridiculous NSF fees when you overdraft your bank account? Apparently banks will try to present the debit several times a day. FIGHT BACK! Report your bank to the Better Business Bureau. I have a friend who did this and quickly received a call from the corporate office. They reduced her fees significantly. The banks do not want their precious BBB rating affected so they will address the issue promptly.

I partially agree with Robert...

AUTHOR: Ronny g - (USA)

Imagine that..a "non" bank defender agreeing with Robert.

I do believe there is some merit to Roberts reply. However..we may not see eye to eye on a critical  aspect....

"You unfortunatly need to go after that company, and if it was in fact a mis-charge they need to be held responsible for all damges they caused.  If they forged documents you need to have the people involved at that company arrested."

I FIRMLY believe..that if the company that caused the overdrafts is proven guilty of wrongdoing or a mis-charge...and has to refund the money back into the customers account..that the bank in good faith to a customer should refund any fees caused by and associated with the mis-charge, rather then make the customer go after them..and lord knows how long and if or when the company will make good..perhaps the company could jump ship..close down..if they are incorporated no one at the company will be legally held personally responsible to cover anything...and then what?..the customer is just screwed??

I look at it this way..at the risk of sounding fair-minded..first off..if the funds are refunded..the bank really lost NOTHING anyhow...so what's the big deal to lift the fees if not for anything but a courtesy to a customer that should be able to trust and depend on their own bank to at least have their back at a time of a mis-charge...  and the possible financial hardship that could result?

As well...it would prove it was not the customers fault...the customer in this case is 100% an innocent victim...if the bank wants and needs the fees so much..why not them go chase down the company to charge the fees to..after all, it was the COMPANIES fault right?? NOT the customers..right?

Doesn't it just seem like good old fashion fairness..remember that? If a customers bank covers a fraudulent or mis-charged transaction..they are technically even MORE responsible for it then the customer, since THE BANK IS THE ONE WHO COVERED IT..so why would they penalize the customer. How is anything I am posting here disputable?? Is anything I posted here unreasonable?

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

Okay I am trying to figure out how an Invalid charge on September 1st, caused you to get served with an eviction notice by October 7th(or before as you didn't specify the date).  After you had 3 OD(and 3 NSF) fees totalling $210.  Although later in your report it turned into "thousands of dollars".  It also turned from you moving into your store to you being put out of business.  Where is the report on the landlord/bank who kicked you out for only being 30 days late?  Where is the RipOff report on the company that did the "mis-charge"?

While I think that there is some exageration in this, or at the very least there were more financial issues before this "mis-charge".  If all this is the case I am sure you will become the "poster child" for the "evil" of Overdraft fees very soon.

Okay before people jump down my throat..that was sarcasam.  But you can't say that you didn't at least think that same thing yourself....

Now, as to what appears the real issues, as there are a couple that I at least one needs some clarification first.

You stated it was a "mis-charge" that started all of this.  So Chase is correct they have no proof that you actually don't owe it, if the company provides them with some sort of document that says you agreed to the charge.  You unfortunatly need to go after that company, and if it was in fact a mis-charge they need to be held responsible for all damges they caused.  If they forged documents you need to have the people involved at that company arrested.

As to the second part.  It is hard to tell what the exact complaint is.  You say that they paid 3 transactions and returned 3 transactions.  They can only "return" checks or ACH transactions.  But your second part is that they posted highest to lowest.  But since the checks are usually the highest value item you were probably already overdrawn by the lower debit amounts.  Again it is just not clear how you wrote it.

Chase doesnt read this website.  They don't read crazy web stories about crazy allegations of them profiting off of dying employees.  What I didn't read in this article is why they charged so many fees.  Did they just charge you fees for no reason? I doubt it.  In your mind, I'm sure they are stealing your money, in everyone else's they are not.  Soryy.
