My Letter that told my University I am sick of lining their pockets to oppress me! Occupy Higher Education. The email is a thread newest to oldest.

By the way, My name is SXXXXXXX, not Sahsa......I guess I am just a number to your Dr. XXXXXX.   What is amazing is that every student in my class and grad-assistant reached out like this "  SXXXXXXX I do understand your frsutration. If you read the email that Dr Yxxxxxx sent out, the discussions (1-10) were worth a total of 100 points, so sections 1-3 would be worth 30, sections 4-6 would be 30, 7-9 would be worth 30 and 10 would be worth 10 for a total of 100. So, from your email you have a perfect score for each section so far. I hope it is not too late to mend your fences in this. It was confusing for me too until I went back and reread her email. If I can do anything to help, please let me know. LXXX  "

Explaining that they too were confused and mis-understood but felt compassion and understanding.  Even offered to help. They are the true leaders. You on the other hand responsed "that was inappropriate and I had nothing to do with that!"  Wow, what ownership!  This is my biggest problem with Capella.  You do however own your grading system and this class has been a cluster "mess" of useless material.

I refused to pay $2150 per class for this type of education.  I plan to spend every chance I get as a social media consultant informing the world of my thoughts on this institution.  I have fought endless battles to find a way to make it right, every course, every semester to keep my 3.9.  Its pointless in this economy and this technological age.  My instructors are outdated and frankly irrelevant in their understanding of the current culture and application to the 'real world" in job offerings. You may continue to equip these students in your manner but I am cutting my losses, 12 classes in my plan ( ouch) but still $25k in stupid taxes at your University.  I have informed Occupy Wall Street, they will probably be reaching out to the Media at your school.  I will see you on 20/20 or a new outlet very soon.  :) You have done nothing at this point but charge me for an eduation that was zero benefit, provided a grading system where 30/100 is and A lol.  There are other deep rooted issues where I felt the college did a fantastic job at resolving.  Yet here I am again, another semester with a massive issue in muddy water politics.  In a world where the leaders are excellent at apologizing, you wonder how they came to hon that skill?

There are no further needs for communication.  You may need to consult your attorney/media relations at the school.
Ciao! SXXXXXXX

Sasha, you obviously did not read the grading document that I posted several weeks ago. 30/30 is the best that you can do. Your tone and outburst is inappropriate since I had nothing to do with the situations that you are frustrated with.

Sent:Tuesday, May 22, 2012I am forwarding this to the remaining students because I am withdrawing. I want the students to understand that if you ever change course plans and fight for scores in courses that you earned you are treated as collateral. I have had participation everyday and Dr. XXXXXX and her assistant has given me 30/100 on participation scores twice. I have had 8 courses or more in higher level cousenling courses with a 3.9 GPA and an entry course has given me a 30. Mind you I have 100 on the assignments and papers in the class.

This is a gross inconsistancy and I am frankly tired of paying $2k per class to be oppressed. I am going to stand up to this organization of "Lesser Education and Higher Prices" and say Occupy my College, Occupy Capella University. I am the 99%.

I may be fighting to feed my family while I line the pockets of this staff board, but I will not take it any longer.

| Dr. Yxxxxxx,

| I am beginning to get very frustrated at my participation grade. I am in the course room everyday. I do not miss assignments beyond one yet you give me a 30/100 twice in participation. I am a straight A student and I am not at all happy with your scoring methods when I have read the others work and I most certainly do not warrant an "F" for my efforts. I think I am going to file a formal complaint and withdraw from the university. This is my last straw with this university and the cost of which you are charging me my un-earned F. I will write Scott Kinney on my recommendation. He helped me on another issue and I am simply done with this college. You guys punish those students that frankly bust their tail.

I know that...

Yes, I know that but you are not thinking about how others read your report. The only thing you said you got an "F" at the beginning while you said one could get an "A" with 30/100 is very confusing. You actually have a problem with what the other side explaining it to you. Also, it seems that you have problems with other classmates and the assistant.

Below is how I would format it. Anything in bold is your comment, italic is the corresponding e-mail content, and inside square bracket with underline is my opinion.

[Now you just cut your communication and the info is inconsistent with what you said earlier (30 out of 100 and 30 out of 30) without your own explanation.]

Dr.

I'm confused too

The way your post is not chronically understandable! When you "cut & paste" certain messages, you should make each part distinct by adding certain format to the portion. This is very confusing. Even I read it 3 times, I am not sure I understood the whole story...

Anyway, what I understood is that you are withdrawing from school because you got 30 out of 100 from a class taught by Dr.K. When you sent an email to the Dr. asking why you got only 30 out of 100, the Dr. replied to you that you got 30 out of 30! Then someone at one of the department you contacted reaffirmed that you got perfect scores from whatever section so far. Still, you adamantly believe that it is 30 out of 100.

Anyway, I do not care for private universities because they care for money more than education. Most of them sell grades rather knowledge. Oh, and you should not expect that a school will teach you "hand-on" experience from the real world unless you are going to a tech/law school. Normally, high education schools don't give you that kind of experience...
