I have been harrassed by 2 Camco facilities and I am unaware of either debt, I do not owe anyone. they call and harrass my 80 year old mother and on top of that I am not a well person.

I know no nothing about the companies they say I owe, this is very unlawfull and I want it to stop. They don't even say when these debts were incurred, what year nothing just that I owe it.

They are criminals and should be shut down. I have very good credit and these people should not have the right to harrass me.

I want to know how they are getting my personal information, phone, address etc.

Cease and Desist Letter

Cheryl, several people posting on this site have examples of cease and desist letters, which I would recommend sending to the street address at SCAMCO immediately (the street address is in some of the other postings as well). "Aaron" -- and we know that's not your name because you work for SCAMCO and where you apparently *have* to work because you can't spell at ALL, honey -- is wrong about 85% of the debts being legit. Read through these posts and know that percentage is *much* higher. If this company truly were legit, the employees wouldn't be making up names and screaming at 80-year-old women to get their point across.

Stuff happens. Even when it's legit debt, people pay in other ways (like having really sociopathic people scream at them over the phone), and you don't deserve this behavior. No matter what, a legit company wouldn't stoop this low to get its money -- their behavior is what convinced me of what a scam this was, and contacting an attorney -- who already has a lawsuit going against them -- locked in my opinion. He said CAMCO is "the new scam."

To get them off my back, do what I did:

1. Cease and desist letter to the CAMCO STREET ADDRESS and via certified mail;
2. Copy of my letter with a cover letter to the attorney general in my state (which contacted them and inquired as to why they were contacting me -- they replied that they'd "closed [my] file";
3. Copy of my letter to the Attorney General, Lisa Madigan, of Illinois, which currently has about 250 complaints against CAMCO;
4. Copy of my letter to the FTC because no matter what, they can't call your mom and they can't call and scream at you so that they each collect their commission.

Do not pay any attention to Aaron. He is absolutely typical of the type of individual that scamco employees. Just look at the context of the letter....

It's threatening, abusive and he and his "company" have no intention of doing anything for you except taking your money!

I had one of these scamco schmucks call my mother recently and used all kinds of threats against her too and all for a debt that DOESN'T EXIST!

My advice to you Cheryl, is to send scamco a cease and desist letter and DO NOT give these people any information about yourself! DO NOT sign the cease and desist letter! They can use that against you. You may/should additionally contact your lawyer and your State Attorney Generals office.

Maybe if "Aaron's" mother raised him correctly, he wouldn't be involved with an organization that seeks to take advantage and victimize innocent people and especially the elderly. Forget about him completely. He is irrelevant. Good luck to you and your mother.

You're just spouting off the
crap that sCAMCO has taught you.

SOUNDS LIKE THIS INDIVIDUAL IS WISE TO YOUR
COMPANYS BULLSHIT.

The reason that this victim has no knowlege of
any debt with the account that sCAMCO is trying
to collect is that IT NEVER EXISTED!

They tried the same scam with me.

THEY GET PERSONAL INFO FROM TRANS UNION.

Since they are a licenced collections company
they only have to submit a name or partial name
and ANY old address or partial address to the
CRA and in return they get whatever personal info
that is on file INCLUDING SOCIAL SECURITY #S!!!

So...

Don't fall for the "your social is attatched to
this account" line.

This SHOULD be illegal but somehow is not.

That's because ANY CA can persue a debt that is
beyond statutes and ANY CA can pull an inquiry
in an attempt to collect a debt.

COLLECTION AGENCYS DO NOT HAVE TO PROVIDE PROOF
OF A VALID DEBT TO CREDIT REPORTING AGENCYS.

sCAMCO has NO SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION for these
alleged accounts.

If you request documentation from them they'll
send you a signed, notorized, worthless piece
of paper that says "you owe money because we
say so".

If you ask a sCAMCO representative for proof of
the debt, the response will likely be "we don't
have to provide proof. You have to do the
research".

Wrong.

FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE ROCKFORD BBB.

THAT'S SCAMCOS WEAK SPOT.

They can NOT show ANY unresolved complaints or
they'll risk loosing state support and licensing.

They rely on slope-headed numbys like AARON here
to do the dirty work while they fabricate MORE
bogus accounts and exploit the system to RIP OFF
more innocent victims.

FILE YOUR COMPLAINT WITH THE ROCKFORD BBB TODAY!

Do NOT allow them to settle the complaint until
sCAMCO relents and releases you from the account.

They'll send you a letter after the first
complaint that will state the account will be
closed if they don't provide documentation
within 45 days.

DO NOT CONSIDER THE ACCOUNT SETTLED.

TELL THE ROCKFORD BBB THAT YOU DEMAND A STATEMENT
OF RELEASE AND WILL NOT SETTLE THE COMPLAINT
WITHOUT IT!!!!!

YOU'LL WIN.

I WORK FOR CAMCO, AND I AM PROUD TO WORK FOR CAMCO.

THE FUNNY THING ABOUT ALL THESE REPORTS ON THIS WEB SITE IS, ABOUT 85% OF THESE PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT THE DEBT. THEY JUST DONT WANT TO PAY BECAUSE OF THE AGE, THAT IS PATHETIC, IN MY OPINION. WE OFFER LOW SETTLEMENTS TO CLOSE OUT THE ACCOUNTS,LOWER THAN THE ORIGINAL BALANCE AT TIMES. THIS IS A VERY LEGIT COMPANY AND THE DEBTS ARE LEGIT AS WELL.

AS TO YOUR CREDIT BEING VERY GOOD,CHERYL, THAT IS BESIDES THE POINT, THE ONLY THING THAT HAS TO DO WITH THE DEBT, IS THAT YOU CAN PAY THE BILL IN FULL.
