I was an ipod first time user and went to the site that was printed on the manual from apple/ipod. www.apple.com/ipod/start

From there I was prompted to "click here to get instant access now"

From there the nightmare began. I was given an offer for a lifetime membership to itunes for a flat fee of 49.90 with no additional cost per download. This was a scam and this site never existed.

I talked to an online "chat live" person who emailed me specific instructions on how to access the site. Another lie. I was never able to access any site.

I was so irritated that I requested my money back... there was after all a 56 day satisfaction guarantee... Another lie. I e-mailed my requests to the address I was given and never got any response.

I never thought I would have to worry about a site that had "Apple" backing it but as my father always used to say "If it looks too good to be true it usually is"

Words to live by.

I am writing this letter so hopefully no one else will have to go through the aggrevation and deceit that I did.

If you made this purchase through Clickbank, you need to contact them for a refund, and do not be polite about it.

I had a similar situation happen with a supposed "Unlimited Download" site for a 2-year membership at $34. Well, only to find out that they redirected me a a Free site which is a Shareware program such as Limewire. Not only was it free, but it's also Illegal to use shareware. I tried like you to contact the company's site but never got a response from a person, only a generic "This is how you download......This is how you play songs..." response.

After doing a little research of my own I found that www.clickbank.com was the site I needed to contact to receive a refund. I threatened Attorney action and public action (i.e., internet watchdogs, consumer reports) against them as well. I received my refund the next day.

I hope this helps you and anyone else that might come across this situation.
