Communal Credit Union Credit Union Scam Alert! Dearborn Michigan

I just recently fell for this scam! I found them on the internet and applied for a loan. I was contacted and started corresponding with gentlemen named David Harris. I sent them a copy of my Drivers License and copies of my current pay stubs. I was asked to send a copy of my Social Security card and refused to do so. I also made sure that I blocked out SS# from my check stubs. . I was told that I was approved for $25000 but they wanted me to send $2500 or 10% for insurance purposes upfront. The loan documents that were emailed to me were very cheesy and unprofessional looking. Once I responded by email questioning the unofficial looking loan docs and fees up front, all communication stopped! I have read that The Michigan Office of Financial and Insurance Regulations have issued a cease and desist order for the so-called Dearborn-based Communal Credit Union however as of March 16th 2009, the web site is still up and running!
