A few months ago I applied for this credit card in hopes of rebuilding my credit. Although I knew about the initial fees, I did not realize their unethical methods of charging late fees on your account.
When I first activated the card, I was contacted by a very rude employee asking that I make a payment. This was of course two weeks before my scheduled due date. After I made the payment, I was told that my payments are due on the 15th each month.
Well, after making my next payment on time I realized I had been charged a late fee. When I called them to ask why, they said because my payment was due on the 12th. This was completeley bogus because we had agreed that the payment is due on the 15th each month. Not only do they change due dates on you causing additional charges, they charge you all kinds of fees for just making your payment.
Once I realized the unethical standards of this company, I asked them to cancel this card. It will be interesting to see if they actually do it. My advice: Stay away from this company.

Many of us in our lifetime have gone through re-establishing our credit for one reason or another. To do this I do not recommend companies like these because they only want your money. They glean in the same limelight as pawnshops and payday loans, and take advantage of the less fortunate. I recommend the next time you have extra cash, say a tax refund, or sell something, put the money in the bank and apply for a secured credit card. Most institutions will do this. Do this in person and discus your options, and payment schedule. As for your payment due date what is written on your monthly statement is when it should be paid. Pay early and pay more than your minimum or pay it off each month. After a year you will have more offers for credit than your shredder can handle.
From their website this statement alone would make me turn around and go away.
The Continental Finance MasterCard is an unsecured credit card and is specifically designed for people who have had difficulties being approved for a major credit card because of a less than perfect credit history, including prior bankruptcy. This is a fee based product in which fees will be billed to your first statement, thus reducing your available credit until they are paid.
