This all started from a door to door salesman. He said he could guarantee saved money, so I listened. He worked for a company called Elevate who has supposedly been around for 10 years selling telecommunications services. That was the first lie. After research on BBB, the company was established late 2008.

The second lie starts with the services offered. He was offering a VOIP phone service, internet, and a choice between cable packages. There was no collateral on the internet, and he couldn't sign me up for the service except through a piece of paper that I had to fill out. I was told the Direct TV package, through this company, would offer up to 4 HD DVRs, the 150+ Channel package, and the NFL sunday ticket all included in the package. The cost for all 3 services was supposed to come out to $84 and some change per month.

When I had to call Direct TV myself rather than the reseller setting it up (first indicator something was wrong), I quickly discovered that I only got 1 HD DVR free with the remainder being $199 a piece, and the NFL Sunday Ticket was going to be $270. Right there, I discovered I was going to have to pay almost $400. Screw that.

I called the salesman repetitively to straighten things out and he just gave me the runaround. I asked repeatedly for the collateral on the services through the salesman and he had no idea what I was talking about after at 4 times explaining it to them.

It was now a week and a half later and nothing had happened. In fact, when I called the salesman AGAIN, he said "I'll call on this stuff tomorrow. I can't do it today because my girlfriend is giving me s**t and I'm just depressed." It was at this point that I decided to cancel the whole service.

After 4 calls and getting transferred to the billing department (which oddly enough eventually let to a T-Mobile disconnected message!), I had people promising that my account would be cancelled and I'd see a refund on my credit card within 24 hours.

Now, it is 5 days after that promise, 7 more calls which I get dropped from, 2 escalations, and a BBB complaint filed. I have attempted emailing the executive management "CEOs, principals, BBB business contact", and all email addresses are getting bounced back.

Next step, Attorney General.

Do NOT let these guys sell you on anything!

After I posted this report, the company contacted me and straightened everything out. The entire issue was through miscommunication, of which has been set straight. Even through I am still not going with their service, we have met a final resolution which has satisfied my needs. This follow-up is exactly what adds credibility to the business.

My only advice is to make sure you fully understand what you are signing up for before you sign up - as you should with any service.
