I was referred to Enterprise Rent A Car by my insurance provider. My insurance provider was covering all costs of my rental car. I knew I would have to present a credit card when I checked the rental out. When the Enterprise Associate, Walter, took me out to the car he took me through the basic features.

Walter then went into his pitch regarding "my personal insurance". He stated my personal insurance wouldn't cover the daily cost of the rental if I was involved in an accident whether said accident was my fault or not. He then went on to explain how the cost of fixing the rental would be my responsibility and could be very,very expensive. (Fear and Intimidation tactic)

I asked Walter if I could elect the insurance AFTER I left with the car and once I'd had the chance to speak with my Adjustor about my policy. He said yes. I stated to Walter I would contact him if I elected to pick up the "optional insurance". He then presented the contract to me, which he had kept on his clipboard, and asked me to initial the acknowledgement stating I had DECLINED the "optional insurance". I did. (My big huge mistake for trusting this charlaton!)

A few days later, Walter contacted me saying he was attempting to run my credit card for the "optional insurance" and asked if I had talked to my insurance company. I stated I hadn't had an opportunity to talk to the Adjustor and asked Walter if I could choose the coverage for 3 days, this was a Friday and I stated "just to be on the safe side" run my card for the next 3 days. I told Walter if I NEEDED the insurance I would contact him on Monday if I wanted to continue with the coverage.

Once I talked to my Adjustor on Monday he said No you have complete coverage on the rental through your policy with us!

12 days later when I returned the car I was told I had a balance of 288.45! When I asked FOR WHAT?The Associate produced the contract and showed me my initials saying I had elected to "buy their optional insurance product" and owed for the entire 15 days I had the vehicle. We had a terse conversation and I said I would absolutely NOT PAY for 15 days of insurance I DID NOT AGREE TO PURCHASE and was blatantly LIED TO and TRICKED into purchasing!

2 days later Enterprise drafted my card. They had collected no "premium" from me the entire time I had the car! After 2 heated conversations with Garth, another Associate, who attempted numerous times to twist my words around and force me to admit I knew I was purchasing the "optional insurance for the entire time I had the vehicle" Enterprise still has my money. All this moron kept saying was I signed a legal binding contract!!!! They have a QUOTA to meet in "sales". This is how they meet it....misleading people and lying straight to their customers faces.

Do Not Rent from Enterprise Rent A Car in Mt Pleasant SC! If you MUST, don't let these unethical, lying, thieving Associates rip you off!
