I took my German Shepherd to Petsmart in Fontana (Summit) for routine grooming. I made an appointment almost two weeks in advance for 9 a.m. the day of the appt. I took my dog in on time, everything was fine. She had a little to eat that morning, but thats it. The groomer said that she should be done by noon. I never got a phone call at noon, so I decided to give them until 1:00. I called at 1:00 only to hear that they were having a hard time with her, so they would need until 3.

I thought this was very weird but I figured that they were the professionals, so I would just rely on them. At 3, no call, 4...no call, finally at 5:00 I called and a lady said that she wasn't dry just yet!!

I was furious. My dog had been there since 9:00 that morning, probably scared senseless, locked up in a cage. I drove down there and the entire staff was working on other pets. I asked about the status of my dog, and one of the groomers said "She is giving us a hard time and doesn't want to dry off", then she added " Do you now have her bathed often?"

Now I was mad, I have taken her to that location twice before, with no problems. Come to find out, she had been locked up all day, with a dryer in her face. I immediately asked to speak to a manager. The manager came out with my dog, soaking wet. It seemed as if they had just bathed her right before I got there!

I grabbed her and walked out. The manager came after me apologizing. I didn't want to hear it. They lied, kept my dog locked up without food, and insulted me in front of a line of customers. The manager offered me a free grooming for the future. my response "Stick it up your a**".

K wow, I know what you went thru. I had always taken mine to Petsmart. lol I decided to try another chain petstore that opened up closer to me. The same thing happened to me that happened to you. I since have gone back to Petsmart even though it is farther than the competition. Some are better than others. I think it just depends on the staff. I hope you find a better place to have your pooch groomed. Best of luck,

Sorry to hear that that happened with your pooch. It sounds to me like they forgot about your dog being there and then only washed her after the first time you called...and possibly got caught up with other dogs and forgot about her again. There really isn't an explanation for that. I'd like to apologize to you on behalf of the OTHER Petsmarts out there. Some of the grooming salons have kinks they need to work out with their systems of efficiency. I am glad to say the one I work at is very good.
