I was looking for free ringtones on the internet two months ago. When I entered my cell phone number with one of the websites that offered free ringtones, I may have signed up for flycell.com without knowing. I may also have clicked on the flycell.com logo by accident when I was checking my emails via my cell phone a month ago. Either way, I was not aware I signed up for a monthly billing of $9.99. The charge started appearing on my September bill with T-Mobile. When I called my cell phone service carrier today to ask about the "premium service" charge for flycell.com of $9.99, the rep explained that flycell service is separate from TMobile, and that I needed to send a text message of "stop" to 69999. The T-Mobile was nice enough to give me a credit of $9.99 for the current bill so that I wouldn't have to pay for the flycell charge this time. After my conversation with T-Mobile, I sent a text msg with "STOP" to 69999 to opt out of the flycell.com service. Within seconds of the text message being sent, I received a text message from flycell that read "access denied". I tried sending the same "stop" opt out text message to 69999 two more times thereafter. I continued to receive the "access denied" text message from flycell. I wasn't sure if this message from flycell.com meant that the service has been cancelled or if my message to them didn't go through. I decided to call flycell's toll free customer service number afterwards. It was a complete run around. I went through their automated system options. The option for canceling their service had the same text msg instructions of sending "STOP" to 69999 if you want to opt out. This opt out message was repeatedly over and over again. I was not able to speak to a live rep to confirm that my service has been cancelled and that I would no longer be charged $9.99 per month for a service that I do not want or need. I called their customer service # several times, and each time there was never any reps to take your calls. There was only a message that stated you can leave message for them, and they will get back to you "as soon as possible". This is a complete scam! There is no way I can be assured that my service has been canceled and that I won't be billed for $9.99 each month going forward on my cell phone service bill.
