I purchased a new Maytag side-side refridgerator from Home Depot in December 2004. The Maytag was installed on 1/10/05. I have reported numerous repair thru my Home Depot 1-year warranty and thru my extended 3-year warranty with GE-Zurich Warranty Magement, Inc. The Maytag was paid for in cash and the warranty's were paid for in cash. Everytime I call for a repair on the Maytag, I get the run-a-round between Home Depot and GE-Zurich. Why am I having to call in so many repairs on a brand new Maytag???
I have requested a new replacement for the Maytag about five-six times, the latest being 1/29/08. They continue to send technicians out that don't know their but from a hole in the ground. Today I was told that the Maytag needed a new compressor which will not be delivered until 2/07/08. This is totally unacceptable. I don't like to play the race card because I am absoutlely not a racist. I am African American, everytime I complain about the Maytag I get all kind of excuses why they can't come out and/or they come out and the problem is only resolved temporarily.
I am contacting the Better Business Bureau, Consumer Affairs, the Mayor's Office in the state in which the item was purchased and GE-Zurich, President of Home Depot and anybody else I can think of to get some satisfaction.
I have documentation to prove that I have had the Maytag serviced many times.
All I want is a working refridgerator with a warranty that is honored by a reputable company. I am so frustrated because the people I speak to at Home Depot and GE-Zurich could care less and they treat you like you are dirt under their feet. They don't care if people in their 60's have a regridgerator or not. The warranty has been paid God have mercy on you if you need anything repaired.
I truly hope the Better Business Bureau, Consumer Affairs, President of Home Depot and the Mayor's Office and President Bush can assist me in getting a new refridegerator.
