#1 Consumer Comment
Same scam but different company name

Thanks for posting your report on Genesis. I took in one of my daughter's friends, who is 15, and she received in the mail yesterday a check for $3,995.00 and letter from Metropark Consumer Research Group to be a mystery shopper. Metropark is in Houston, but the name on the check is Jimco Lamp & Manufacturing Company with an Arkansas address. I googled the bank name, Keybank and it exists but is in another state (I forget where now). I googled Jimco Lamp and it apparently exists as well. I googled Metropark and came up with nothing. But when I googled the phone number on the letter, it brought me to your report! So obviously they are working this scam under more than one name. And as others said, the envelope has a Canada return address and postage.
