Whatever you do in terms of needing new leads for real estate, do not send Global Referral Network (Canada's Relocation Service) any money!!

When you speak to their representatives (Joel Houghton) they come across as very sincere and professional. You are told that you will be receiving leads in 14-21 days from when they receive the money ($1495). When they don't arrive you are told to contact their customer service department (via email) and then they don't respond. You then phone your representative back and then his phone number is no longer in service. You then email him back again and receive nothing back.

It's amazing to me how the state of California lets people (company) like this operate. I hope the authorities for the state will go after this company and lock them up. If they don't, I know karma will play a role in making things right.

Once again, do not send them any money !!! Save your money and do your own target marketing and thank me later for saving you the time, grief and money.

Renters are leads ??????

AUTHOR: Jeff - (Canada)

POSTED: Tuesday, July 15, 2008

Global has had my money for over six months and to date they have not sent me any qualified buyers. I was told by Joel (sales rep) that they had lots of people moving into my area who were looking to purchase a home. He never told me they have lots of people who are moving into my area who want to rent!

If you talk to their customer service people you will find out after you have sent them your money that a lead is a person who is going to rent for 6 months or less.
All three of my so called leads were renters and one wanted to rent up to a year before deciding what to do.

I have asked many times for a refund but still have not received one. I was told they were going to do a 90 day review (delay tactic) and magically in the last week of the review I received two of my renter leads.

As the housing market slows down and you are looking for buyers I would strongly recommend that you DO NOT send them any money unless you want a couple of leads of people who want to rent.

Global Referral Network is a worldwide relocation firm. One of the services we provide is matching relocation clients with qualified Realtors who specialize in relocation services. Jeff was emailed and offered a spot on our network for the Fraser Valley area. He signed a contract with us to help our clients. Jeff is in breach of contract by refusing to help these clients because they want to get to know the area for a few months before purchasing. We have had continuous contact with him throughout the entire process. Jeff has had several relocation referrals thus far. Jeff has spoken with BUYERS and is developing relationships with our clients. We can only provide Jeff with referrals of clients who have asked to work with a Realtor in the Fraser Valley area. We cannot force individuals to choose Jeff and we certainly cannot force Jeff to help them relocate. If Jeff closes ONE property as a result of our referrals he will have a minimum 200 percent ROI. Of the several referrals, Jeff has made contact with these clients who are buying homes and moving to the area. If Jeff would wait until he has received ALL of his referrals and actually help them relocate, we are confident that he will have many closed transactions. We have included our correspondence with Jeff below as well as the actual BUYERS he has talked to so that if you are a Realtor you can determine if these are clients you would consider viable. Hopefully Jeff will try and have a positive attitude and develop relationships and perhaps become one of our many successful agents. Otherwise we will honor our contract with Jeff and continue to send him clients for his area. Whether or not he helps them, is up to Jeff.

Do you plan on purchasing a home in the Fraser Valley area?: YES

THIS IS WHAT JEFF SAID IN RESPONSE:

Torey,

Thanks for making me laugh.

Can you please show me where in my contract it states a lead is someone who may be renting up to six months before they consider buying?

In regards to your lead from the other day........they told us they were going to rent for 6 months to up to 1 year before they make a decision if they are going to buy.

In regards to my first lead they wanted to buy 200 miles away from me? The second lead was a college student who wanted to rent and had no intention of buying.

As I said, over 5 months with you and haven't had a lead of someone who is moving here who wants to buy within six months of arriving (your definition of a lead which was never stated in the contract or explained to me by your sales rep).

Thanks,

Hi Jeff,
We are still in the 90 day review process. In fact, we consider someone you spoke with who wants to buy a home a viable lead. Most realtors in North America would consider that a viable lead. We are still under contract with you and will continue to send you leads as they come in.
Of course if the lead is not in your area it does not count.
Thank you,
Torey

Hi Jeff,

We actually consider someone who is purchasing in 6 months to be a buyer. I am confused as to why you say you still have received nothing, when we keep sending you leads. You actually made contact with a buyer, they told you they were buying and you are not working with them? Why is that?

Torey
