I mistakenly signed up for their service in May since I was undergoing a tough time emotionally settling in Portland. I met with one of their directors, Lucy Librizzi. She practically did an emotional black mail on me so I can sign up on that session. I should have thought about it some more, but I was faced with a very aggressive negotiation and I caved. She gave me a discount just to make me sign up right there and then. A few days after I signed up, I knew I made the wrong decision and immediately contacted her to cancel my membership. She refused to take my calls and answer my emails. She answered my emails only to tell me that I am not allowed to cancel my membership. I have not used any of their services since then. They keep charging me monthly membership fees despite my inactivity and my repeated requests to cancel.

To the GE director. Maybe this is late too...

AUTHOR: capernaum07@yahoo.com - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, November 01, 2010

Well maybe GE of Indianapolis should hear you out because apparently for the 5,595 dollars I paid back in June 2008 for the so-called "VIP" and "unlimited" membership that set me up with matches that weren't even close to matching my interests or just wouldn't answer my calls even if they selected me first.

For the price I paid I figured I'd have an easier and more user friendly time searching for single prospect women than I did on the cheaper or free sites like plentyoffish.com or americansingles.com.  But when the photographer tried to get me to pay "280" (280 dollars) for a CD who later on fails to upload my profile video which he admits to losing I knew I was at a disadvantage already. Because the only way to post any visual aid on my profile was through another appointment.  This alone frustrated me want to cancel my membership and the only answer I got was from the girl answering the emails saying "I'd still be responsible for payment".  I agreed to travel to meet a possible potential marriage partner but I never said I'd agree to travel due to a mistake on the part of GE who I paid over 5 grand to.  As desperate for employment as I have been in years past before my current job with the government, I would have never resorted to such aggressive con games as the representatives of Great Expectations Indianapolis have implemented.

Its frustrating to know that a company would take advantage of single men, much less try to enforce their contract in the midst of their negligence and carelessness without any recompense, which makes a free singles site like plentyoffish.com seem more trustworthy.  I'll never trust any dating site again but the damage GE has done according to all the reports made on this website can't be repaired by just changing the company's management.  They need to be brought to justice and forced to pay back the money they took from me and everyone else they conned.  And if you are who you actually say you are, then you'll take every report made against GE on this site or the BBB seriously and see to it that your customers are compensated for their grievances due to GE's incompetence, carelessness, and deceitful tactics.

I dealt with the same person at GE

AUTHOR: merry - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, September 08, 2010

I dealt with the same person who said she was the manager of GE in January 2008. I had slightly different experiences. However, after I paid a prepayment for a future membership and decided not to join a few weeks later...before I received any services and before the membership was supposed to have been activated, I could not obtain a refund. I tried to do so several times. Then, to  make matters worse, I could not reach anyone at GE of Portland's business address by phone or registered mail. By June 2008, my only available option was to  file a lawsuit in small claims court and was awarded a judgment against GE...that has not been paid. The notice to apper in small claims court had to be serviced to GE's registerd agent in Salem, because ...as stated above..., noone was working or responding to calls or mails at GE's business address at this time.

If GE of Portland has been reorganized with a team of people who are providing  services in return for the prepayments or monthy payments they collect, then GE's ownership group should be williing and able to pay the judgment that I was awarded when the company was not providing services for members... or in my case for non-members' who prepaid for a future membership that was cancelled.

In other words, the fact that GE of Portland has qualified staff today does not eliminate the company's financial obligation to pay the bills or court-ordered judgments associated with invoices for the purchases of its former employees...or in my case it does not eliminate the obligation to pay a debt owed to me due to activities of former employees. The court-ordered judgment and interest should be paid.

I know it's a bit late.....

Therese,

I am sorry to hear that you did not get the respect and service you desearve! My name is Brianna. I am the current Director of GE. I have been with the company almost 8 years and started when I was a photographer for MT. Hood Meadows Ski Resort in my early 20's. I worked for GE Portland for about 7 years and then decided I wanted to try Radio. Uggh. That was fun, also tough. I decided to come back to GE since I had met so many great people and the work was so fullfilling. When I left and then came back, I noticed we had many complaints about the previous management and decided it was time for a change. We brought in new staff and management after only 6 months and have been signing up a ton of great people ever since.

I am sorry to hear that you did not receive the attention and customer service you expected in a timely manner. This is only a glimpse into a person, not a company. As a mother, I never appreciated making plans and having them cancelled. I know this can be quite frustrating. I have loved my job for years and we both know a company is only as good as its employees preformance.

I wanted to stop by and introduce myself and let you know I am here for you if you would like someone to listen to you and your experience. The girls and I work very hard for all of our clients and are saddened by the news of upset clients(even if we havent met them yet). Our phone number is 503 274 4244. We work Tuesday through Saturday 12-6. Sometimes later. Please dont hesitate to contact us, as I would be very interested in hearing about your experience and hopefully helping in anyway possible.

Kelly, Molly, and I love to work with everyone and at our last Poker tourny event,on Sunday, we had over 60 attendees show! It was so much fun! We are also doing a great event this Thursday. I know it is short notice, but I thought I would throw it out there:) I will also put up a pic on here from my birthday last week, so you can at least put a face to a name. I know words are meaningless, but I would love to show you how great people can help other great people meet other great people! No pressure Therese, I just thought I would reach out. I'm a solutions type of gal.
