I signed up for HCS Credit Keeper's services in January with the anticipation of moving into my first place, and with the intention of watching the hits that various places would make on my credit report. I signed my lease at the end of March and called to cancel my Credit Keeper subscription at that same time.

I didn't realize until July that Credit Keeper had still been charging $9.95 to my credit card. I called them on July 22 to get the four months of unauthorized charges refunded. For thirty minutes, the representative (very clueless) said that she could not find me in the system. They found my father in their records who has never signed up for their services - but could not find me. I insisted that I was, indeed, in their system. When I asked how they could make charges to my account if I was not in their system, I was told I didn't know.

I had to demand to speak with a manager. Ten minutes later the manager, who was quite rude, finally found me. I was told that I had called in May, which is not possible. I clearly remember where I was driving when I called to cancel. This was BEFORE I had moved on April 4th. However, I couldn't remember the exact date of the phone call so I didn't attempt to argue this point.

After another fifteen minutes of explaining the issue, the manager told me that they would refund the four months of unauthorized charges ($39.80) and cancel my subscription with them (again).

It has been more than six weeks and the only credit that I have received from HCS is $9.95.

They will try to tell you that you are not found in their system. Do not take no for an answer! If they are charging you anything, then you are in their system. They will attempt to ask for a copy of your statement. They DO NOT need this! They will tell you that you didn't call them when you did. They will not give you a full credit, even after giving you the confirmation number. Keep everything they give you. Call them immediately upon finding an error. Do not take No for an answer. They are ripping people off left and right and they must be stopped.

Guess what... I'm still waiting for my refund. I called 2 months ago and chewed some supervisor out, saying that all of these problems that I've been having with their company is ridiculous.

Well, I'm still waiting...
