Now, I have only dropped off the video at the drop off box two times. Other times I personally went into the store and returned it to a person, but that didn't make much difference in my case.
I recieved a notice in the mail for a total of 6 videos which they claimed weren't returned. This obviously took me by suprise and I immediately raced to the store to clear this up. (this was back in AUGUST of 2002). I assume the manager didn't know how to use computers to check of the records because she made me wait standing for an hour as she went to the back of the store, came back out, cleaned up some videos in the meantime, keeping me waiting. I suppose that she was pretending to look, I'm not too sure. She claimed that they would do inventory that week so that she would call me thursday morning. She called, said she did not find the videos, and I asked her for a person to contact for this matter. She said she couldn't give me the number directly but that she would connect me. Unsatisfied, I still said OK, and I waited to be connected. She hung up on me during the 5 minutes of waiting. I called back the store, and noone picked up the phone for the total of TEN times I called in a 5 minute period. Someone finally picked up and said that the manager was not in.
Repeatedly I showed up at the store, REPEATEDLY the assistant managers and managers said that they couldn't do anything for me because the STORE MANAGER would not be in until friday (ONCE A WEEK). So I show up on friday, she is NOT there. I ask to be contacted, she does NOT call. I ask for the district manager's phone #. I repeatedly called him, my brother even called him. He doesn't call me back. I finally told him that If he doesn't call me by today, I would report him and that I would take necessary action.
During all of this, I get a "FINALY NOTICE, THREATENING THAT I PAY MY BILL OF 250 DOLLARS for the videos plus late charges added onto it since AUGUST. They can do this to you. They can do this to anybody. (LATE CHARGES BECAUSE, WHAT? THEY didn't return my phone calls? weren't they the ones who caused all of this to happen? I DO NOT KNOW WHO ELSE TO TURN TO. PLEASE HELP.)
