Integretel slammed my telephone in September 2003 (we use 10-10-636 and never requested their service).

I called immediately, but the charge still showed up the next month. More calls were made in subsequent months, and I was assured that it showed as disconnected.

The charges continue to show up on my bills and my telephone company (Bellsouth) says that I have to contact Integretel.

I will follow up with letters and formal complaints, but this is the second time we have been slammed and it is so frustrating. It was such a relief to google and find that others have had problems with this company.

Slamming Help

AUTHOR: Henry - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, April 03, 2004

Go to www.fcc.gov and file a slamming complaint with the FCC. It does help you and the next victim of the company.

The other thing you can do is change long distance companies and then call your local carrier and put a PICC freeze on your line. This stops any company from being able to slam you.

You may want to call your local carrier first and check and see if their is a PICC freeze on your line. Some of these companies when they slam you, put a PICC freeze on your line. To make it difficult to change long distance carriers. Once the PICC freeze is removed change long distance carriers and put the PICC freeze on. Their are many reputable long distance carriers that do not charge a monthly fee and 3.9 cents a minute. If you do not plan on using the new long distance carrier much, make sure you get the plan without a monthly fee.

Hope this helps

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Tell BellSouth that you want a PIC Freeze on your phone.

AUTHOR: A. - (U.S.A.)

Lynn,

A PIC Freeze is a block BellSouth puts on your line, per your request, which protects you from being switched (slammed) to another long distance carrier without your express consent. (PIC-Primary Inter-exchange Carrier).

Also call 1-700-555-4141 from your line at no charge and that will tell you who your current long distance carrier is.

You may also want to contact the PUC- Public Utilities Commission and file a complaint.

I hope this helps you.
