I'll be brief since at least two other reports spell out in detail the MO of James Scott or James Robert or whatever his new moniker may be. The bottom line: On May 14, 2009 this individual cashed a $550.00 personal check (sic!) from me for a storage bed and, with the exception of a single, incomprehensible email in which he explained the delay in delivery by alleging that Google hadn't yet processed my order (WTF?), I never heard from him again.

Not to downplay my own stupidity in this matter, not only did I send him a personal check (by the time I found him on Etsy he was no longer doing business through PayPal), I actually FedExed it to him so he could take advantage of what he claimed were discounts from his lumber supplier, a claim he laid out in several urgent emails at a time when he was more communication-friendly. The FedEx package was addressed to his new branch office or, at any rate, mail drop in Fort Worth, Texas.

A word about Eysy's role in this matter. This is some sort of aggregator site that hosted and promoted this individual with no oversight whatsoever. After James Scott, James Robert, etc. was removed from Etsy's website, I asked them for his email address so that I might attempt to work something out. They refused. The grounds? They don't give out the "personal" information of their "members", despite the fact that by their own definition/admission, James Scott, James Robert, etc. was no longer a member. Think twice before doing business through this website.
