More than 8 years ago, I had incurred a large amount of debt. I was going through a divorce, and on the advice of a financial planner, allowed all of my debt to be charged off. It was the planner's feeling that in light of the amount of debt that I had incurred, it would be best to let it be charged off instead of filing for bankruptcy. Included in this substantial amount was a small amount due to Fingerhut. I had no contact to or from Fingerhut, as advised by the financial planner, I allowed the debt to be charged off.

Now, over 8 years later, I am receiving at least 3 telephone calls per day to my cell phone regarding this debt. I feel that this is merely re-aging an old debt that would otherwise have fallen off of my credit report due to the amount of time that has elapsed since it was incurred. This law office will not come out and say who they are collecting for, and I have stopped accepting their calls, I just let them go to voicemail when they come in. I have asked them to stop contacting me and they still call.
