MEDIACOM They take the TV guide off (they call it a wasted channel) and then they increase the rates by $3.30 per month! How about taking ESPN 1,2 or 3 thats the waste! Mason City Iowa

We use the basic package, reason 1 is because 20 years ago Mediacom got rid of the ugly boxes because they were an eyesore We didn't have the TV guide but we did have the Cable TV guide. And even with Basic they threw in a movie channel.

Now 20 years later they have taken away more channels than what they have replaced. The latest is the TV Guide, when I called them on this I asked if they were going to replace it because that is one that we do pay for.(They called this channel "a wasted Channel)They said eventually and it may possibly another sports channel.

First of all the TV Guide is not a wasted channel. That was the only thing we had to check what was on our channels. And the entertainment and games weren't bad either on that channel. It was one of the good channels. I'm not into the sports but there is more than enough channels for sports fans! Now we are really getting ripped off and don't even know what we are missing and they are going to charge us another $3.30.

I do feel pretty bad for the old people that map out their evenings by the TV Guide Channel and now it's going to cost them more to not have one of the few good channels.

It seems that Mediacom is finding more ways to rip us off and they are getting away with it.

Simple Solution

To the original post and the second rebuttal the solution is really quite simple, stop paying for the service. You are under no obligation to use Mediacom so if you are unhappy, stop buying it. If you continue to purchase a service that irritates you so much, you are only to blame. Second, you obviously have internet, so use tvguide.com (its not rocket science).

yup ashy is a joke like mediacom is!!!!

its okay ashy   just tell us the truth u r gettn paid from mediacom to defend them they just like u are a joke!!!!!!!!!!!!   to the originAL person in my area they have taken away  31 channels and replaced them with 17 they say that more people watch espn then any other channel, thern this past month they took away 6 ppv channels,  and added a outdoor channel in replace of them, they have also taken some channels away and stuck them on digital channels and then us to go and buy a $400 convertor if we want to watch them, then late last year they took the answering machine away from us and said pay 12.95 a month and you can have it

It IS a wasted channel

The vast majority of their customers are digital cable subscribers. We get a TV guide with that service that is on demand. It informs you what show is currently on, and you can see what shows are coming up.

If a TV guide is that important to you, then you should look in to getting a digital cable box. Or you should start getting a sunday paper to get a TV guide. I would rather have 1 more channel of programming, than the useless TV guide channel.

There is only a limited number of channels available on the Analog range. They have to pick and choose the ones that the majority of their customers need. Not just a handful.
