My daughter is a freshman in college, and was called in her dorm about a magazine subscription. She agreed to a one year subsctiption to a knitting magazine for $58.00. She was then called a second time, and offered multiple other subscriptions which she declined. Charges then started showing up on her statement, first for another $58, then another for $555.00.
We called the credit card company (First Union - Bankcard Services Wilmington DE) and informed them of the unauthorized charges. We were told the card and charges would be canceled, and a credit would be applied to a new card.
We then were called back by the credit card company, and told this was not fraud, but a billing dispute, ane we would have to get restitution from the MOS Magazine company.We are still awaiting this.
To date, no mailings have been received from the MOS company - 7 weeks since the original charge.
