I started receiving phone calls from this company about a month ago. I finally called them back and they basically told me that I owed some PayDay Loan company, Red Leaf Lending, $945 and I had to make a payment today or I was going to be taken to court. They refused to send me anything in writing about the debt. They even argued with me on the phone. They refused to disclose a location for their business. They tried to make me give them my credit card number and set up payments. Does anyone know who this company is?

It is a SCAM!

Right now, a very popular scam is fake debt collection agencies or scammers using a real debt collection agency's name, calling up random people and threatening them with arrest, court, etc. They claim you owe a payday loan and hope that you will be scared into giving them money.
Normally, the scammers claim to be a company called ACS but there are so many warning about ACS right now, they are using different company names. Just tell them you do not owe anything and that you are well aware this is a scam and they needn't bother wasting yours or their time anymore. They will soon realize you aren't going to fall for it and they will give up and go on to the next victim.
