Penn foster sent me a collection account a few weeks ago. well i disputed it because i had an account in 2001 with education direct which was paid out. Education direct and penn foster are the same thing. pen foster is saying that i opened an account with them in 2005 which i did not. education direct and penn foster is not accredited in louisiana. this is the reason i closed out the education direct account its not worth my time and hard earned money.

i did end up going through an adult center in my local town and got my ged. now all of a sudden i keep getting a collection account for 540.00 i disputed this and they keep saying that i have to pay this because its my account. i would never recomend anyone to get an account with them because there not accredited. who would want just a paper that is worthless. i know i sure dont. i have tried to settle this in many ways and the only answers i get is you have to pay the 540.00. there should be a law against these companys like this. they shouldent be able to just charge u for whatever they feel like.
i will dispute this tell the day i die.

Penn Foster is Regionally Accredited!

AUTHOR: Anonymous - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, October 08, 2010

Penn Foster is Regionally Accredited and therefore is accredited in Louisiana. Regional Accreditation is the highest form of accreditation and is recognized nationally and in most cases, internationally. If you enroll in a school diploma program and agree to make payments, you must make good on your promise or they will collect!

In your case, you enrolled, dropped out, took a GED test and passed, but still you do not have a High School Diploma. In addition you have a debt that is due. How is that the school's fault? Not everything is everyone elses' fault in life. You are responsible for your own mistakes!

yes i know i had a similar thing happen to me i dropped today, and i ended the classes because an instructor there named colleen said that i was plagerism , on my writing skills 1 and 2 I dont think they should be able to get away with this especially if they havent produced anything to us . only  a  grade that is graded by a pc, for some reason these ppl want to see you fail I think so they can cash in on extra bucks , this is not getting anywhere with me i will not be lied on and bullied or abused by these ppls threats , i intend to spread the word , this woman or this school had no right to say i cheated on an essay especially when it was about my own life, also i didnt appreciate the rudeness and the way they looked down on me when i called and asked a question one more thng its funny how they run and hide and hurry and close an acct rather than fix somethng they intended to screw up, isnt it ? ex student here email me if you like (((REDACTED)))    this school is going to lose thier accredidation, and I dont think i will be the last person to drop them either , when you lose students you also lose money , i wonder how much longer they are going to pay the colleges off with our hard earned money , to keep this thing accredited lol i wish them well they are going to need it
