We purchased a rebuild transmission through Phoenix Remanufactured Transmission because we saw their ebay advertisement and thought it was a great deal.

The transmission never worked properly, froze up the first time it was driven, transmission was purchased 03/23/2006. Contacted owner Frank Kuperman who told us that his transmissions often have problems with the vacuum valve and to have our mechanic look first to see if that was the problem. Once our mechanic looked into the "re-built" transmission from Phoenix, our mechanic told us that it was the worst re-built transmission he's ever seen in his 18 years of re-building them. Among the problems were old warn out parts that still operated, but barely, medal shavings everywhere in the transmission. Our mechanic stated that it looked as if it was re-built enough to attempt to make the transmission operable for maybe 1 year. HMMM 1 year is the warrenty on Frank Kuperman's shotty transmissions.

When I called and confronted Frank he stated that now his warrenty is void, even though he instructed us to have our mechanic in Ohio look at the vacuum valve before we had to pay to have it shipped back to Arizona. Our mechanic contacted FedEx 7 times for a pick-up of the old core and Phoenix would not have it retrieved.

Phoenix Remanufactured Transmissions has cost me $1,800 because our mechanic had to re-build the already "re-built" transmission that we purchased from Phoenix Hard Parts.

This company and it's owner are complete scams and the Arizona Attorney General's Office needs to investigate how many consumers have been taken by these companies and their owner.

Frank Kuperman makes complainers write that they are 100 percent satisfied or he will not refund your money!!

AUTHOR: Robin - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, April 12, 2009

I am the original poster from several years ago. Frank Kuperman will not refund money unless the complainer states that they are 100 percent satisfied even though they are not. They watched to make sure that I wrote that on here before they would send me my money back. I lost at least $1,500 after paying local mechanics to change out their bad transmissions, so I definately was not satisfied but felt I had no options but to write that in an attempt to recoop some of my money lost to this fraud.

I am sure that Frank Kuperman got a hold of that ex-employee from this post & threatened him with a lawsuit. Kuperman's are good with threats. Stay away from ANY company these men have anything to do with!

NEW NAME, SAME GAME.PHOENIX RETRANS, AKA PHOENIX HARDPARTS DBA PHOENIX REMANUFACTURED TRANSMISSIONS and now ALPINE TRANS SUPPLY AND REDLINE CONVERTERS

POSTED: Tuesday, October 14, 2008

PHOENIX RETRANS, AKA PHOENIX HARDPARTS DBA PHOENIX REMANUFACTURED TRANSMISSIONS and now ALPINE TRANS SUPPLY AND REDLINE CONVERTERS

Frank C. kuperman has CLOSED the doors on the above mentioned companies and possibly has filed bankruptcy on the above companies (still investigating) but dont think that consumers are safe from his ugly wrath, He has opened up another transmission company under the name of Alpine Trans Supply and a torque converter company named Redline Converters. I am writting to you for the first time only because he fired me and bounced the last two payroll checks (how stupid was I to think I was exempt) folks consider talking to your local or state Attorney General office to help get guys like this off the internet and off the streets of Phoenix,Az. Times are too tough to be scammed by someone who DOES not produce a remanufactured product but a partially skimmed through with some but not all parts replaced. Help stop him and his tactics!!!

#3 UPDATE EX-employee responds

i know how they work..i left the company despite the good salary.

AUTHOR: Andre - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 08, 2006

i am an ex employee of the above mentioned company. this company has been doing things of this nature for a long time as i too was apart of the unethical practices.i was the top salesman there for 5 years and witnessed on many ocassions customers being lied to, sending out the wrong transmissions just to get the customer's money and then rebuild their original core, not testing transmissions, not giving customers core deposits back stating that transmission was not rebuildable when in fact they were.

so many different things the list could go on and on about their unethical practices. also please be advised that Frank Kuperman sits on the BBB in phoenix,az. phoenix reman transmissions aka phoenix remanufactured transmission, aka phoenix hard parts aka silverado industries.

please be advised that my comments reflect what i saw and practiced as an employee of phoenix remanufactured transmissions.if anyone is thinking about a class action lawsuit against this company please feel free to contact me.illfaterecords@yahoo.com all my statements are true. i quit this job december 2005 to start my own thing.(not ripping people off)**also if you dont believe the people making these claims just call some local transmissions shops in the metro phoenix area and ask them about frank kuperman jr,and frank sr. who own phoenix reman transmissions aka phoenix hardparts and listen to what they have to say about doing business with these owners.

go to qwestdex.com to get a listing of local trans shops in the phoenix area

EDUCATIONAL/GENERAL COMMENTS

Car owners should familiarize themselves with the steps for proper maintenance and the signs of transmission trouble. It may not be possible to obtain inexpensive maintenance service if the vehicle exhibits any sign of internal transmission damage. Since teardown costs for diagnosis of problems can range between $400 and $1400 (depending on the make and model of the vehicle) before any work is performed, customers might wish to obtain a second opinion before authorizing disassembly of the transmission. If the customer decides not to have the repairs made, the shop may refuse to replace the old fluid with new since the fresh fluid may dissolve deposits around the seals.
