Rogue Valley Awnings, Porta Covers, Gary Chambers, Chambers Construction ripoff dishonest crook bogus warranty on flimsy junk carports that collapse Grants Pass, Rogue River, Medford Oregon

We wanted a carport for our new car, so we went to Rogue Valley Awnings in Grants Pass Oregon.

We met the owner Gary and Phylis Chamber, they said they were former farmers, good honest hard working folk, we liked what they told us.

I picked out a 12X20 foot carport or Porta Cover as they call it, all we had to do was put up a $800 cash deposit and due to our disability gary said delivery and setup normally $400 was free.

He would not take credit cards or a local check so we agreed to go to our bank and get the cash for him, being savy I asked for proof of our deposit, he said his pen ran out of ink and did we have one, I did not so I left the wife there while I went in search of a ink pen at wal mart.

When I got back my wife was standing in a nearby lot, she said he had an emergency call and had to lock up and leave and he would bring our carport out the next day.

The next day came and went, we called and called only to get an message that they were closed, the next day I went to see gary chambers at his store, his wife said she had never met me before and she knew nothing of it and in any event I'd have to see gary at thier factory.

She did'nt know me, what the heck was up with that, so off to the factory it was.

At the factory I'm met at the gate by gary chamber who is yelling cuss words at me before I get out of my car, he said he did not know what kind of scam I was trying, but he was not going to allow it.

I calmly explained who I am and what our deal was, he told me he had never seen me before and if I did not leave he'd call the police and say I was an armed robber.

I tried to reason with him, finnaly he said wait here I get your F***ing $800, but he came back with what appeared to be a large gun and said if I did not get the "F" off his property, I'd be a dead armed robber.

I went to the nearest pay phone, dialed 911 and was told it was a civil matter and without proof of our deposit we had no leg to stand on.

Beware of this flim flam sweet talking con artist or stand to loose you money to.

After talking with folks we meet, we heard that this jerk does not honor his warranties and has ripped off others as well.

Moral of the story: Never Pay Cash unless you get proof of purchase and/or deposit first.
