Last June 5, 2007 me and my husband attended this seminar that I saw from t.v.- an info-mercial of Russ Whitney regarding real estate training. The speaker was great and convinced us to sign up for the 3 day seminar from June 29-July 1. We even signed up the Mortgage Accelaration Program which they said is free but we have to sign up for the Merchant's Account for additional $79.00.
Today is July 1 and I haven't received any letter or confirmation from them. I called their office, David Kalman-Sr Acct Exec who got all our info -credit card/checking acct. He's out on the road and apparently, they don't have our files yet and they need my SS# to check our file. What the %(#*? I asked if their system can't check their client's status with their names, add, he said that he doesn't have enough information to get it. I have talked with other people who got signed up with them and none of them have the package yet until now.
For the 1st day training it was very informative for us who are new in real estate business. By the way, it was held at Hilton Hotel, 1335 Ave of Americas,NY,NY 10019, They'll probably hold their additional trainings here also.
On the second day,the speaker - Bob (Robert) Venter is the worst speaker! He talks about his personal life, emotional problems, his pet dog Fifi that has its own credit card. And told us that if his pets can get credit card, so can we! Imagine that, training everybody to be a fraud. And get many credit cards as you can!
I'm looking at the manual and waiting for him to discuss all that was outlined in the training but most of time, he'll be telling us his cars, watch, showing us all the checks that he have made but not telling us exactly how he get it. And if somebody is raising their hands to ask questions, he'll just totally ignore him. We asked questions, he'll tattle something irrelevant to the question and not answering the question. Most of the topics outlined was never discussed. And by the way he said he was raised and born in Bronx, NY, Holy cow, I mean holy crap! He's got the southern accent Texas guy. One of the audience actually commented about it and said, she can tell that he is not from New York.
On the second day til the third day, he won't talk about the most detailed relevant topic in real estate because he said they will teach it on the Advance Training Program. What a crap! We spend $495 for the training knowing we will learn all the important facts in real estate business and they'll say, we have to take the advace training for that! They just lured us to pay more. That additional training costs from $8990.00 to $63990.00. That would buy me my own property already. Are they nuts?
The package includes a software which you can buy $1k+ separately but with that amount, you can hire a programer to do that cheaper. The trip to Costa Rica is just about $2k or less round trip and they are charging $63k+ for their package. Man, that's how they really make money. And Bob talks so fast and psyching everybody to talk to the other trainors, sign up and give our credit cards. It's like the yoda thing! And after telling us these bogus stuff, he tattles about stuff that's so irrelevant that we have to leave early.
And on the third day, he asked everybody just to take 15 mins break. Give me a break! It's not overtime gameplay. They're starving us and making us not to think straight. Sad to say, some people still signed up. But not us, if there's a lawsuit against them, I'm in! Just to remind everybody, please check the yellow form agreement, it says there that after 3 mos, if you don't cancel, they will charge us $199.00. Its a binding agreement and they didn't elaborate on that. They are here in New York so they'll probably go everywhere. They say information is power so we have to inform everybody about this scam.

When a legal Consumers Right to Cancellation expires in 3 days, and it takes 21 days to view and question the purchased product, it becomes a Time Lag created to compromise those consumer rights.
These seem to be the tools used by the Whitney Education Groups
1. Fail to reveal a material fact
2. Be unfair, unconscionable, and deceptive in your Trade Practices
3. Cause a probability of confusion or misunderstanding
4. Create gross discrepancies between your oral representations.
