Like many people I saw a commerical for the Sprint FRAMILY plan. I thought, hmm, I know 9 other people, I can link my account and pay a cheaper bill each month, based on what the commercial says... I go to the Sprint store. I say can I sign up for the Framily plan. She says No problem, click click, I am in. Then the scam begins... I give out my code, only to find out that NONE of the people can link to my account HOWEVER sprint offers THEM an opportunity to change to their OWN PLAN! So now I am stuck with a HIGHER BILL than when I started.

The advertising is completely deceptive. They NEVER tell you that the people have to be NEW accounts. NEVER. They never say that you cant link old accounts or that you have to start a new line of service. How can this be legal? Its a way for Sprint to get you to go our and get others to switch to Sprint. Not to mention the sales rep never explained it, just rushed it thru and told me it was simple.

I know there are laws against this kind of deception... where they dont tell you all the details and consumers are mislead. Someone has to do something. I now have a bill that is HIGHER $50 per month

I am not sure if you are still locked into the Framily Plan, but if you are please take your complaint to Sprint Corporate. I ran into the same exact issue. The fact that people are trying to place the blame on the consumer is shameful! Sprint does lie, and I too was lied to regarding the Framily Plan. After my first bill arrived I knew something was off, so I called Sprint and they babbled on about pro-rated charges, etc. I was told the next bill would be lower and will accurately display my monthly bill going forward. Next bill came, still higher than my bill prior to joining the Framily Plan. I have 5 lines, and I was saving nothing and now I had a phone payment added on because I was told I had to finance a phone to join the Framily Plan. They never mentioned my upgrades would be erased either.

Anyway, it took me close to 2 months of fighting with Sprint, but they finally placed me back on my unlimited data plan, reinstated all upgrades and reimbursed me for the additional charges for the months I was on the Framily Plan. I had a credible witness with me when I went to the Sprint store, so I believe that helped my case, but it was still a battle. I am now trying to get Sprint to understand that since I was due for the upgrade when I was put on the Framily Plan I shouldn't have to be paying a monthly payment for my phone, but instead I should only have to pay what the upgrade price was at the time I was placed onto the plan, since I was placed onto it under false pretenses. It will probably take me months to convince Sprint that I am correct, because I am doing all of this without a lawyer, but I will not bow down to companies who lie to consumers. 

Please, if you gave up get back in there and fight. It's never a consumers fault when a company knowingly withholds information in hopes you won't ask about it. The contracts are so long nobody is going to stand in a Sprint store and read through an entire contract, which is why they want people to go to their stores to join. If you could sign up online you would have the time to read through everything and actually understand what you're reading before signing.

Sprint lies, but don't think they're alone. Whatever you do don't listen to the people telling you it's your fault! It's never your fault for having faith that people are being honest with you. Companies cannot lie to consumers for profit. It's illegal! 

Keep fighting! Go to Sprint Corporate and file your complaint. Don't threaten with legal recourse unless you have an attorney. Once you threaten with a lawsuit they do not have to speak to you or work with you to resolve your issue. You can get off the Framily Plan. I know because I did.

You should also watch out for a catch. Every advertising always has a catch when it is so called "good deal." I knew that some people will be screwed after seeing the advertising because there must be some information hiding from whatever they are advertised. I knew that a certain requirement would be met under this type of advertising, the same goes to AT&T plan.

Anyway, I hope you learned the lesson and NOT believe in anything that are advertised!

 You have made an assumption, when you assume you do so at your own risk. Did you ASK!?! Or did you do the usual American Consumer BS and just see what you wanted to see? I cant blame you for being upset, but really, you saw it on TV. Did you EVER notice all that fine print that flys by so fast you cant read it? Well in the body of THAT advertisment, they clearly state that the accounts MUST be new. If you dont have a DVR you would miss it, or you would have to see teh commercial a lot and try and read quickly. Either way, it IS there, youre just not catching it. The good news is this.....call Sprint customer service phone number and explain that you wish to switch back to your old plan. You need to explain that you really didnt understand that the accounts needed to be NEW activations and that you had ASSUMED that your Sprint friends would be able to join you. It will take some doing but it can be done.

This is a two part failure. First on your part for not becoming fully informed BEFORE you made the switch. Second on the sales rep who assisted you for not explaining the program to you. I would definatly say that the SALES ASSOCIATE didnt disclose certain facts and thats a issue of concern.
