SafeWay Certifications are a rip off for several reasons:
1.Prices are very misleading. There are no comments about additional health department fees that will be collected. For example, Arlington is listed at $14 but there is an additional $16 fee they must pay to get their card.
2.Falsely claims their certificate is the exclusive certificate accepted by most health departments. This is simply false. There may be a few locations but most is a stretch even with the most outrageous claims.
3.Claims that, in Austin, customers can buy his services and they don't need a trip to the health department which is inaccurate. They still do have to go to the health department to receive their food handler card.

After being in business for over ten years, and yes, being the originators of online training of food handling.. we were exclusive in this business. I hate to give any competitor satisfaction in answering this ridiculous article, but for anyone reading these accusations.. simply go to our website and see for yourself.
1.) We collect for most of our cites/counties and fully disclose what you are paying for.
2.) We (prior to the new rules that we helped enact with the State of Texas) WERE exclusive with most health departments.. so this is no longer valid as of 2008.. get your legislation right... LOL.
3.) We DO collect all fees for the City of Austin/Travis County and you do NOT need a trip to the health department. Again.. call the health department or check our site.
