Carnival Sea miles credit card is simply a ripoff. Their website does not work half of the time and cannot access my account. They promised to transfer my miles from capital one by June 30th, 2005 but they did not keep their promise and this should be illegal.

Avoid this card at all costs. If someone else has the same problem please join me so we can sue and get justice done.

Maybe Jabir of Newark Delaware can help me.

AUTHOR: Jen - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 01, 2006

Mr. Jabir

Please take a look at my complaint "Juniper Bank ruined my Credit", dated March 1, 2006. Do you have any advice on this since you are an employee of Juniper Bank? I would really like this issue to be resolved. Thanks

I don't suppose they can please everyone

AUTHOR: Chase - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, January 27, 2006

Maybe it's just you. I got one of these things (from Juniper--I would NEVER own a card from Crap One), and have never had a single problem, either with the card or with redeeming the miles. I just redeemed mine for a cruise we'll be taking in March...didn't have the least bit of trouble.

The rates on the card are good (Juniper is a prime lender--Crap One is subprime/predatory, by and large), I don't believe I have any annual fees, and the customer service has always been pretty good. I liked it so much I went ahead and got 2 other cards through Juniper (Orbitz Mastercard and Casey's). They're one of the few companies out there to where no matter what time you call, day or night, you're never going to get "Haji" taking your call (read: Indian outsourcing). As for the 2% interntional purchase surcharge...find a card that DOESN'T. Every card I have has that, and I've got a lot of em. Just a matter of reading your user agreement and rate chart--something it does not sound as though you did (you also mentioned fees you don't like--if you didn't like them, why'd you sign up for it?)

The Benefits are there...

AUTHOR: Jabir - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, July 17, 2005

It is unfortunate that this experience went as such, however, it is VERY common that customers feel slighted when the information is OVERLOOKED or just ignored in an effort to "get to the spending". I know for a fact that the transition from capital one was a benefit to the majority of the customers affected. I know this becauause I've taken those calls. Like any system, there will be glitches. In an effort to complete the switch in a manner and timeframe to satisfy customers and Carnival as well, Juniper did an extraodinary job. They were also beholden to Capital 1's input as well (which they cannot control).

As for the 2% foreign country fee (as it is named in the application AND in the documentation sent out for the customer's review before card usage), this fee is charged by virtually all creditors (I have worked with several major banks so I speak with 1st hand knowledge of this fact). The difference is that Juniper Bank is the first that I've worked with to isolate it on the monthly summary so that you can identify fees from cost of merchandise or services. A major reason for the increased instances of this billing fee reflecting is that with the current trend of outsourcing, companies we have done business with previously are processing from outside the U.S. (eg;Canada, Europe and India). I suggest you inquire of the larger merchants you deal with where their billing is done.

Ultimately if consumers read a little more than the atm pin codes in their info packages, they won't feel like they're being duped and can make an informed decision on whether or not they want to use ANY card.

NOTE: A credit card account is a loan and a priveledge. You DO get to spend the bank's money in advance whether you pay in full or not!!! The benefits of having an account and a rewards program work for many, the real question is...

WHY NOT YOU????

Sea Miles Carnival Cruise Lines Juniper Bank Mastercard - Seamiles.com - carnivalseamiles.com ripoff

AUTHOR: Mary - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, July 12, 2005

The Sea Miles / SeaMiles Carnival Cruise Lines / Juniper Bank Mastercard is a credit card that should be banned and these companies should be sued for blatant deceptive advertising. You will get a lot of surprises you have not bargained for with this card, like a 2% fee on purchases made outside the USA, even when the souvenirs are priced in U.S. dollars. You will need to spend a fortune to come close to a free cruise (which is not really free if you look at the fees you have to pay) so many restrictions in the fine print. It's a shame that they can put all these restriction in the fine print without giving notice to the consumers. I am surprised that Carnival can put their name on such garbage.

SeaMiles have nonexistent customer service, and they just give you the runaround so you just pray you will never have to call their customer service number (if you can get thru in the first place) On one incident, their number was disconnected for days.

To manage your seamiles, you go into a maze of a website redirecting to another website and so on and when you finally enter your login information, you get rejected for one reason or the other. Of course, you call the customer service and they reset the password, but the same thing happens 2 days later and so on.

Oh, wanna book a cruise with your miles! Good luck on that as well, they have not transferred my points from Capital One like they promised in Carnival Sea Miles promo letter. With new points that you earn, it will show on your account in a month if you are lucky.

I have had many credit cards but never have I experienced such a ripoff. I will cancel my card and hope that consumers that want an honest advise on the (SeaMiles Carnival Cruise Lines Juniper Mastercard) credit card; my advise: YOU WILL BE SORRY.

I holding on to my card for a month or two until I can resolve the miles transfer and then I am canceling this card. I hope that others step forward and share their bad experience with this card, as I am sure that I am not the only one.
