Marc Matlioski was contracted to install a fence on our property. We signed a contract on June 12, 2013 that explained he would begin working on the fence within 3 weeks, and I also provided him with a check to purchase materials in the amount of $2,762.50. Marc deposited the check the next day and submitted a permit to begin the work; however, did not provide his information or payment to the town office while completing the permit application. I received a call from the town construction office and went to complete the permit and make the payment. Since, I have not heard from him regarding a start date. I would call to check on the day he would begin his work and he would exclaim that he can't start because he has other projects before mine. It has been 7 weeks now and he has yet to begin working on the project. He no longer answers his phone and when I leave a message returns the call extremely early in the morning so that he can leave a message instead of speaking with me. Each of his messages has a different excuse about his personal schedule getting in the way of completing the job. After a message last week, he has not returned a single one of my phone calls. I have reached a point where I worry that Marc may be running a scam in which he takes a down payment and does not deliver the service or product.

The number one reason we are in business at Secure Fence LLC is to ensure that we are providing our customers with great workmanship and top notch customer service. We have succeeded in this indusrty for 10 solid years by maintaining this commitment. The majority of business we aquire are referrals from customers who were happy to pass our information on to their family, friends, and neighbors. This is the greatest compliment a business owner can ever receive as it shows that we are making our customers happy.

Unfortunately, as outdoor construction, we are forced to deal with weather. in 2012 it was Hurricane Sandy, and in 2013 the month of June set the record in New Jersey for the most rainfall recorded. As you can imagine, we cannot install, pour cement, or use our tools in wet conditions. Sadly, this type of impact creates a domino effect with the schedule and can push us beyond the projected start dates. We always promise to work as hard as we can to make up time lost and when we are on the job we ensure that you are satisfied before we are paid. We do not believe in pushing the limit or "rushing the job" just so we can collect our check and move onto our next project. Again, our commitment is to provide great workmanship and our goal is to ensure that you are more than satisfied when your new fence is standing for years to come.

We have never "Ripped off" any customer as our License and business record is pristine with the state of New Jersey and other associated agencies. This can always be checked by contacting the Attorney Generals office. Please ensure that you do a thorough review of your contractor AND the site that holds their review prior to making any decisions.

He has done this before. Please contact BBB to report him:

He had 5 problems like this with BBB and had been downgraded to an F.

After some time passed, they simply bumped him back up to B+ .

 

Also, since he has done this before, consider filing a police report.
