Sunset Point Bocas. Sunset Point, Bocas del Toro, Panama; Mathew Whant, Mat Whant Mathew Whant utterly failed to honor his obligation regarding settlement for the Sunset Point Bocas website Bocas del Toro, Panama

Mathew Maurice Whant is the British ex-CEO of Sunset Point Bocas in Bocas del Toro, Panama.

I made the decision to work with him as a web designer, in Panama, over a period of 14 months (March 2008 - May 2009), designing from scratch, and then maintaining the two main websites of the company - sunsetpointbocas.com and volcanpacifica.com. Although everything in the original remit was carried out, and all targets achieved, to date I have received no payment or settlement for this work from Mathew Whant. And despite repeated requests for an amicable settlement, over many months, Mathew Whant utterly failed to meet this obligation. He could have done so; he chose instead to withhold any settlement, using a barrage of excuses and delaying tactics.

John McKeon, one of the new Directors at Sunset Point (after Mathew Whant was "terminated for cause" - sacked - on September 18, 2009) had this to say in his Letter to Shareholders, February 14, 2010:

"Mathew Whant was terminated for cause from Sunset Point due to numerous illegal actions and a long history of mismanagement and immoral and unethical business practices. All other members of the former management of Sunset Point were also terminated, or willfully resigned.  The termination of Mathew Whant was justifiable and was conducted in a legal fashion.  It is the unanimous opinion of the existing board of directors of Sunset Point that Mathew Whant should be considered nothing more than a disgruntled ex-employee who is attempting to extort Sunset Point for a large settlement that is unsubstantiated and without merit.  His malicious attempts to discredit respectable and undeserving investors who placed their trust in these companies is a disgrace to the investors of all three companies who have been manipulated and misled for years."

 John also said this in an email to me: "Mat left the company in absolute shambles" and, "I know the work you put into it (the Sunset Point website) and the terrible treatment you received from Mat (Mathew Whant)".

John has also promised, that the new Directors at Sunset Point will make good on this debt: "Your debt is posted and will be paid as soon as we get money. I gave you my word and will stand behind it."

I lived (literally) next door to Mathew Whant for ten months, in Paso Ancho, Chiriqui, Panama; I visited Sunset Point on several occasions, met the sales team and architect, saw some of the construction - and therefore have some knowledge of how things were. Therefore, if anyone has a relevant interest in Sunset Point or in Mathew Whant, or the new Directors of Sunset Point, I will be happy to discuss my experiences with them.
