Sick animals, corrupt management, casually racist and discriminatory against customers and employees, nice paint job though, TERRIBLE deceitful inhumane absolutely criminal stuff going on behind the scenes DAILY.
Jeanette Christos, the self-proclaimed "CEO" of this dog dump, should be in PRISON for misappropriation of funds and many generous donations, client fraud, employee abuse, and most importantly, animal cruelty in many forms; and don't expect to be approved by the Board for an adoption (there is no approval board) it's B.S., Jeanentte Christos solely decides who is approved and denied, based on her feelings, not the facts about each customer...she is a deceitful, corrupt, racist director of this shelter.
"VET" Trailer completely inappropriate and disease ridden, procedures performed by techs, not vets, unsafe contaminated grounds for animals and humans that walk all around this toxic time bomb...but that flower bed over there sure is pretty...Clients are routinely lied to about an adoptable animal's original and present health, disposition, and prior documented problems.
Oh, but you heard it's a 100% no kill shelter, their big claim lies lies lies. They kill and dispose of many right there, there is a crematory oven on site, no real records kept of how many thousand have been killed, of course Jeanette Christos will deny deny until she's blue in the face, LIAR! She ok'd EVERY one.
Several hundred DOCUMENTED allegations of abuse and $$$$ misappropriations, coming from respected and established members of Boca Society (major donators whose donations were "redirected"), to many disgruntled employees and dissatisfied clients stuck intentionally with problem pets.
The Boca Raton City Council, by pompously and ignorantly looking away (at a 2006 hearing, they actually looked amused at times), is helping to cover up the whole damned mess. How DARE they ignore the facts. Thanks Council members. Thanks a lot Mayor Abrams. Look forward to our votes.

-WRITE TO THE BOCA RATON CITY COUNCIL AND MAYOR ABRAMS NOW!!!
FIRE JEANETTE CHRISTOS, CHANGE THE "BOARD OF DIRECTORS"
and the improvement WILL begin immediately.

I have personally known Jeanette for 15 years. She and I worked together in a non animal related field and she devoted literally every free minute to the animals. She finally quit her job and devoted 100% of her time to the animals. She and her staff literally saved dogs from "death row" at the 11th hour. I adopted one such dog. She purchased a home with her own money that could be a "cage-free" environment for the animals. It was literally their house. My husband installed a water purification filter system so they could always have clean water. When the house became too small - Tri-County Humane Society moved to it's current location in Boca Raton where I can tell you of first hand knowledge of the love and care the animals receive. Yes there is a cemetery on site but only for the animals that have died or were put down due to suffering. No animal that is too sick to adopt will be adopted. that animal will be kept and cared for at the society until such time that either the animal dies or becomes too sick and then HUMANELY put down. No dog has every been put down due to lack of space and otherwise healthy. I can't say why you would speak such things about this woman who tirelessly worked for at least 15 years saving countless unwanted animals, perhaps you were not approved for your adoption and are disgruntled. perhaps you adopted a dog that had underlying condition that was not detected right away. Think of the bigger picture - think of all the dogs that would have otherwise been left to the streets to starve or be hit by cars or tortured in some other way. She saved hundreds of dogs in her career and did the best she could to provide care and homes for every one of them. YOU may be happy to know she passed away yesterday. I for one am devestated and she will be missed by more people than you can think of to say bad things about her. I pray you see the truth and realize what an amazing woman Jeanette really was. God Bless you whoever you are.
