We purchased a vehicle from this dealership in Feb 07 and traded in another vehicle which we still owed on. The trade-in was not paid off (though the dealership said they had mailed in 3 different checks to the lein holder and could not phone in a payment) until we were in collections with the lien holder & actually had to make a payment on the vehicle we traded in and no longer had to prevent serious credit damage AND had involved the State Motor Vehicle Enforcement Fraud Division. The dealership waited until THE LAST possible date allowed by law to pay off our trade with no concern for how the late payments would affect our credit.

Furthermore, the dealership promised (verbally) - ALWAYS GET IT IN WRITING - to a certain cash back amount on the purchase of the new vehicle. They delivered about 70% of the cash back they promised and then out right lied about what they had said & how to do the simple math of the missing money.

These guys are HORRIBLE!!! The lies just continued in every facet of our dealings with them. They told us we could refinance the loan after 6 or 8 months. We have talked to at least a dozen banks who have told us we need to make 12 payments first & that we will need a significant amount down because we are SO UPSIDE DOWN in the vehicle. HIGH SELLING PRICE!

Another Scam they pulled on us - which we were able to reverse thanks to the decency of the warranty company & help from the State MVED - they told us we had to purchase an extended warranty (even though the manufacturer's warranty was still in effect) to secure the interest rate they quoted. THIS IS A COMMON SCAM by a lot of dishonest dealers come to find out. What is better the "warranty" would have voided the manufacturer's warranty and was SO HIGHLY PRICED that I could have bought the platinum extended warranty thru the manufacturer (GM in my case). Once I involved the MVED & was able to find out thru them who the warranty was purchased thru (got the run around of about 6 different non-existent warranty co names from the dealership when i inquired with them) - I was able to get the money back.

Do yourself a favor & DON'T do business with these guys. Just to get them to comply with the LAW you will be spending a good 2 months reporting them to the State & following up with everyone, getting collection calls, etc..NOT WORTH THE ENERGY!!!

On one last note - I am not the only one these guys have tried to screw over. A local news station recently exposed them for submitting fraudulent loan applications! Don't go to Universal Auto Group no matter what the deal!
