You admit shoplifting and want to file charges for a supposed camera you had???  WTH is wrong with this picture?  You got everything you deserved and if I had my way would get alittle more of the same.  Its people like you that prices have sky rocketed to begin with.  The taxpayer pays for your crimes.  Here's a suggestion.  GET a J O B

1st of all thats what u get. Have you repeated your question to your self? like hmmm I went into walmart to steal some stuff when I was caught i ran and left my bag with my cell phone (no money but u can afford that) and my digital camera (wow no money? u should have pawned it if u were in such need) do u guys think I will be able to get it back? LMFAO. Oh and I almost 4got the funniest part when the man had a "EVIL LOOK on his face" but 4 real u should keep this kind of stuff to ur self. ur not getting ur camera back ur lucky he didn't take ur phone.

People here may appear crass and unforgiving, but it's because you're not coming across as a very good person. 

If this happened to you by mistake, then the whole world would be on your side, but you forfeited your rights to sympathy the moment you pocketed merchandise. It's very hard to feel pity for someone who gets abused and punished while committing a crime. Never mind the fact that you witnessed how they treat shoplifters shortly before this happened! You knew the risk and went ahead anyway.

If the story about your friend and her condition is true, I hope she doesn't suffer much. Don't you go and use her as an excuse though, that's shameful. Besides, you bring her up as motive for your thieving ways, but never mention what you were stealing... If it were food because things are so tough, you surely would've mentioned it for sympathy, so I'm forced to imagine it was make-up or DVDs or an Ipod or something. If want to bring motive into discussion, then what you stole will play as heavily into the situation as why you stole it.  

I get that times are tough, but let's face it, you've got a computer, so life ain't all bad. You need to save money? Sell your computer! Cancel your cable TV and internet! You need to shoplift but you still got a CELL PHONE? A DIGITAL CAMERA? A CAR? How about instead of shoplifting, you go and sell this all s**t that you DON'T NEED. You shoplifted because you feel entitled and that's that. You somehow think that you deserve this crap. Sorry to tell you, but that ain't how it works. I hope this incident serves as a lesson to you.

Anyway, enough of my soapbox rants.

Do you have a case? Right now? No.

As this all happened while you were committing a crime, you have zero credibility and this type of case would ultimately boil down to a he said/she said situation. No credibility means you would lose. The only chance you would have is if an uninvolved third party would step forward as a witness. (like another shopper) If some random customer with no criminal history witnessed the event, had a receipt of purchase that shows he/she was there, then maybe, JUST MAYBE, you would have a case. Even then though, it feels like a long shot.

Going forward, quit stealing. Sell the crap you don't need and live life. You won't die without cable, internet, and a cell phone, I promise.

I remember a case on Judge Judy where she mentions a little rule called "Clean hands". "You cannot sue for a crime that occurred while you were in the commission of a crime".
