Wayne County, Michigan Friend Of The Court Deadbeat repeatedly called in for "Show Cause" hearings, FOC is useless. Detroit, Michigan

Over the course of the last 10 years, my child's father has repeatedly been called into court for "Show Cause" hearings pertaining to his failure to pay his child support. He often works "under the table" and always seems to have money to take trips, play golf etc. While he's off playing golf, we are struggling to purchase a new home in a great location that will be better for my daughter!

He has been over $5000 in arrears atleast three times in the last 10 years, was called into court and was set free for a whole $100. It is apparent that "Show Cause" hearings are not effective in this particular case. "Friend" of the court has failed my child. Thankfully, I have a supportive family who has stepped in to help with odds and ends.

I even wrote off several thousand dollars in arrearages to kind of help him out, it's right back up there near felony level less than three years later. Friend of the Court does absolutely nothing to hold deadbeats accountable...
