Purchased a Roketa MC-54 Touring 260 scooter on June 26th via the website scooterdemand.com. Received scooter on July 9th, 2007. Scooter had damages upon opening the crate it came in. The crated had metal bars on the sides and the right side had major scratches to the Front-Right panel, Right side panel and antenna on right was damaged.
Immediately called on my cell phone to shipper and reported damages. They said claim had to be taken up with merchant. Called scooterdemand and reported it. They gave me a run around. I emailed sales and they responded back to send in pictures of damages and they would send new parts. Got a response back that they were reviewing the pictures. It has been 10 days and there has been no response. Sent more emails and still no response.
Contacted my credit card company to file a dispute. I paid $2499.92 for this "New" scooter. Card company said it should have come in "Mint Condition". Luckily, several of my neighbors were there when it was delivered and will send in signed letters stating they saw the damages. Also, my cell phone records will be consistant with delivery time and times I called shipper and scooterdemand so they can't claim I damaged it. Also, scooter demand sent me the wrong MSO (Certificate of Origin). The Vin# was wrong and I could not get it registered or tagged till I received the new one several days later.
Sent scooterdemand a final email yesterday July 17th, 2007 stating that if I don't here back from them in 2 business day, I will assume they are not willing to rectify the problem and I will have to take action.
Credit card company said to get an estimate of cost to repair it from a shop and they will dispute it and will get my money back if I can prove my case. I had taken photos of the damages when it arrived and the dates and times appear on the photos. I had left my contact information with scooterdemand and got no response. I'm highly dissappointed with scooterdemand.com.

Well, here it is 3 months later and my issues have not been resolved. Went through the Better Business Bureau and then through the District Attorney office of Wichita, Kansas. Still have had no luck at resolving the problem. The scooter came with body damages. I purchased the scooter which has a 3yr parts warranty. They can not obtain and body parts for the scooter. I have tried several online sites to get parts with no luck. Basically, I paid $2500 for a scooter that I will not be able to get parts for. Folks, do not consider buying from these people. Their customer service is the worse I have seen. Often I would call and the voicemail was full and a message stated they are taking no more calls! In 3 months, I was only able to talk live with someone 2 times. Once they get your money, you are screwed. Try to order a part for a scooter and see how far you get! I spent hours for several days trying to find some parts I need. Found one site called Roketa.com that looked like there was hope. Placed and order with them and to make a long story short, they took my credit card information and said parts would be delivered within a week. After a month of no parts, I started calling them and got runaround. Finally after 6 weeks, they admitted by phone that they could not get the parts I needed. Please LEARN from my lessons. If you want to purchase a scooter, try a local dealer where you can see it and know you will get support and parts.

As of today 7-23-2007, there is still no response from scooterdemand.com.I purchased the scooter on 6-25-2007. I received my scooter on 7-9-2007 with damages. I agree with Chuck's statement. People need to know about these incidents of getting damaged scooters from scooterdemand. They have not reponded to any of my emails for the past 18 days and when I do get ahold of someone on the phone, they say the parts are shipped out 2-4 weeks later. I asked if they can confirm when the parts are sent and they said "No, we just ship them." If you bought with a credit card, I recommend you do what I'm doing and file a dispute.

I too have purchased a scooter from scooterdemand and received it damaged. I am waiting on missing parts which were "shipped out next day". That was 14 days ago. I plan on doing all I can to get their name out there so that no one else will go through what I have and obviously yourself also.
