We cancelled our account (two cell phone numbers) with Worldcom back in October. Yet, the phones still had service. Again, we call in November.

Yet, service is still on. We call again in February. Service is still on. We periodically use the cellphones to see if service is cancelled. Still not cancelled. (The phones were used maximim of 5-8 minutes for a few months to see if service is cancelled.

In May, we call again. We have an enormous bill, according to Worldcom. We speak with someone. They agree that we will pay $300 to settle the account.

In July, we still get bills as if the phones had not been cancelled. We pay $500 just to settle it. Yet, we still get bills. We email them. They say we still owe $81.01. Yet, in August, we get a bill for $647.04. This is contrary to what was said in email.

When we call them, they refuse to talk to us and even hang up on us. They no longer respond to our emails. HELP! We want to settle this and get Worldcom out of our lives!!!

big companies stink and they cant get away with it

AUTHOR: Steve - ()

POSTED: Sunday, August 18, 2002

I received a call last year, July 13, 2001 at night about a cell phone from mci. I accepted. Next few months, their updating their billing system. i get concerned. if i recall in the billing invoices there is nothing in there that says they about $200 deactive charge. my father is very familiar with the phone companies and said they can do that if cancel.

i never canceled and they put in due upon receipt which i think its wrong when THEY feel you should pay up when they want the payment. i only owe them $242.00 left when it should be $50? i wrote to escalation and no response.

i'm going to send them another letter to tell them where the sun don't shine. look at it this way, if they're ceos get caught with the issues facing them i hope their stocks crash. big companies stink and they cant get away with it. i would call up fcc and complain to them and let them know how you feel. if you don't owe any amount tell them. call the media up and tell them.
