After working for aloha construction for over a year, I have yet to receive the money that I made.  Overhead charges are taken out of my pay, yet I don't know where that money goes to.  I had signed a contract when I first started, and within a few months they said it was voided; yet rules that benefit them are still enforced.  The owner, or anyone for that matter, is never in the office and they will get mad if you go there before 7.  This is a poor company to do business with, both internally and externally.

#3 UPDATE EX-employee responds

In defence of Aloha Construction Inc.

AUTHOR: Hunter162 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, December 09, 2012

I have done work for Aloha Construction Inc. and still have independent contracting ties with them.  I found that working for them was nothing but pleasant and professional.

I was paid promptly and in full for all the work that I did.  I never had any problems with any of the staff or owners, and have nothing but respect for their organization and work ethics.

Aloha also repaired the high wind damage that was done to my roof almost a year ago, and I found them to be precise, a great value, quick, and the cleanup, and follow up was wonderful.  I will use this company many times in the future if needed.

I had to submit this rebuttal after stumbling upon this very outdated and seemingly unfair report to this site. It seems that the author was unhappy with their contract, and is looking for any thing that can be said about this company to smear their reputation.

I have been in their office many times and there was always someone there to handle anything I needed taken care of.  I never tried to go there before the office hours, but I would assume that, like any business, office hours are there for a reason.  I find it hard to believe that anyone got "mad" that someone showed up before office hours, and more likely that the author was mad that the rules applied to him as well as anyone else.

I wont comment on the "contract" that the author referred to other than to say that if a contract is signed and is binding, then they should have had a copy and any problems with it should go through the proper channels to get resolved. ie a lawyer, or the owner of the business, and not an anonymous online report.

Regarding Pay

AUTHOR: Claims Specialist - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, April 06, 2011

I am in sales for Aloha Construction and I feel that I have to defend the organization here.  I will always encourage homeowners to use the internet to research us before they commit to doing business with us and have had a homeowner point to this post as an area of concern.

I have been in sales for years and have always been through changes in pay plans and pay agreements, its standard when a company grows or changes practices to have some kind of impact on any pay plan, so the complaint from another salesman here is probably due to a lack of real world experience.

Also, the overhead that I see goes to important things for homeowners and sales people alike.  The overhead makes sure that the company has a real location, with phones, fax machines, electricity, office space and warehouse space and probably most important.. it makes sure that they have some liquidity to honor a 10 year warranty.  All of those things help me to honor my agreements with homeowners and earn commissions.

As far as the issue with being in the office, I always have access to the office, but my manager wants me to be in the field selling, if anyone is in the office before they make sales, they are failing themselves and the company.

I am sure that the original author feels that the "ripoff report" is a good place to sound off his or her frustrations, but I think he or she went there because there is no other place to go for people who don't understand simple things, like overhead, changes in pay plans, and the concept of a sales pipeline.

I would bet that any company from GM, GE or any small businesses have had staff who left frustrated, but that doesn't make them bad companies.

If you are a homeowner and considering doing business with Aloha, don't let "durbs (Arlington Heights Illinois United States of America)"  sway you.  Ask your representative if he or she is happy and look at the overwhelming feedback of satisfied customers.  Let the "ripoff report"  report on actual ripoffs.

Aloha Construction Concerns

AUTHOR: DjJD - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, February 09, 2011

I guess this is more of a question and concern than a rebuttal. I am currently being offered a position at Aloha Construction as a Production Coordinator. I've somewhat known the owner for several years but have been warned by a few people that he is dishonest and untrustworthy. He is offering me a pretty competitive salary and a solid work schedule. I did notice that the office was empty when I went in there for a tour except for the owner and his trusty sidekick. I also spoke with one of his family members on several occassions. At first even she told me not to trust him but now she is telling me that he will take care of me and I have nothing to worry about. After reading your report I am very apprehensive now because I have a family to provide for and cannot afford to leave my current job with benefits only to be lied to and cheated. I guess my question is were you the former "Production Coordinator"? I'm currently being offered all these incentives to join the company and the owner knows my situation and my family life. Any further information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
