I attended AIU- Atlanta campus from 2009-2011 and graduated with an Associates Degree and ended up with $40,000 in loan debt. How could this have happened? This school is a rip off. I am hearing many stories of how other schools dont accept AIU transcripts. I would like to be contacted for a class action lawsuit. This is ruining my life. My email is (((redacted))) I will respond asap!

You want to know how it happened? Here's how: At the beginning of each semester you were issued a student aid report detailing the cost to attend, and your financial aid awards. You accepted the student loans that covered tuition and were probably issued a refund check for the balance. Six months after you graduated, you were put in repayment status.
Now you're bitching that you have to pay it back? What part of "LOAN" didn't you understand? All schools that award federal student loans require that you sign both a promissory note, and complete exit counseling stating that you understand the terms of repayment.
You have absolutely no basis for a lawsuit. Next time (and for all other readers) consider your local community college. It's far cheaper, they have online programs for working students, and the credit trasfer far more easily.
