Ancestry DNA test does not provide you with the results that you expect in finding relatives. internet Internet
*General Comment: Really???...
I submitted a DNA sample to Ancestry.com. It cost me 94.00 in order to do so. When I recieved my results I was expecting to see a breakdown of relatives on my mother and fathers side. This did not happen; I ended ip recieveing a cluster of information that I dont even know is factual. For all I know the information they provided me could be from anyone. I then procceeded to call them to speak to them on this issue and they kept hanging up on me, knowing that this is a problem. I am very disappointed in this company.

Really???...

After submitting a DNA sample, you really thought you would get back a name list of relatives? The only way that would be possible was if your relatives had also submitted samples.
As the website explains, the results from the DNA sample will give you information as to where your ancesters originated. There are traits carried in DNA that would allow them to determine if your family came from Africa; Russia; Asia; Native American; etc. Then you would have an idea of where to concentrate your research. For instance if your DNA had no Polynesian traits and you found a possible ancester in Polynesia, you could rule them out from being in your family tree.
And NO, I don't work for the company. I just read their explanation of the test and results.
