Last week I saw an add on Craigslist for ASAP Solutions. They claimed to be looking to hire people for their warehouse, customer service and reception. I called and got an interview that day.

When I went in they asked me to fill out a form before I met the interviewer. It asked for my Social Insurance Number. Right away I thought that was odd. They had not even hired me yet. I later discovered that it is illegal to do so.

When the interviewer came in he gave a slide show about water purification. After the slide show he asked me if I had any questions. He never really looked at my resume nor did he have any questions for me. He told me to call back later that night to check on the status of my application. I was invited to start training the following week.

When I arrived, there were 14 people there for training. No one had applied for a job in sales.  They were hoping, like myself to work in customer service, reception or in the warehouse. In stead, we were treated to a lengthy presentation on water testing and advised us that sales reps make a guaranted a minimum of 3000k a month plus commission. It sounded too good to be true.

They told us that we needed to practice our sales pitch on friends and family in order to be `certified`to sell for them. Four demos was the minimum but ten would be better.

By the second day of training, 14 trainees had dropped to 9. I was getting suspicious.

That night I did some investigating & found that they were the same people from SimpleH20. CBC`s Marketplace did an expose on them in January of 2011. They had they same devious hiring practices, used the same testing kit, same sales pitch, did the same `precipitation`test (which has been proven to be a hoax by scientists), offered the same pay & used the same marketing ploys (scratch & win bingo tickets, free givaways & weekend getaways).

Doing a little more research, I traced the owner of the company back to Tri-Star Enterprises & Star Industries. Turns out that what they told us was an air filtration company was actually a door-to-door vaccum cleaner sales company. They used all the same tricks as SimpleH2O & ASAP Solutions.

I found several complaints about Tri-Star & SimpleH2O from both consumers & employees. These are a bunch of slick, slimmy salesmen from Alberta & they are setting up shop here in Ontario & Quebec.

I made copies of the owner`s Linked in profile that connected him to all these companies as well as a copy of Marketplaces report on `precipitation`testing.  I confronted them about this and distributed my copies to the 8 remaining trainees. They danced around my questions and I was asked to leave. Later that night Adam Brown (the owner) took his Linkedin profile down.  A small victory!

I`m just so glad that I found all this out before I took the water test kit home to practice-victimize my friends & family. I hope that exposing them to the other trainees left them without new recruits for at least a few days. Beware of owner Adam Brown & his colleagues Ken Cruz, Bill Duncan & the most notorious Dave Gold.

Look them up!!!! The only positive comments I`ve seen are testimonials on their own websites or comments posted by their own shifty employees. Glad I did my homework!!!!
