I received a call today from James at PR collection agency in New York stating that I got a payday loan from Astro Lending for $400.00 and paid it back with a bad check written on an account with Charter One Bank. This supposedly happened in 2008. I have never had an account with Charter One Bank and never got a loan from Astro Lending. I never even heard of this company until today and now plan on taking this to my Attorney to have him look into this problem. It just seems strange that they would wait over 4 years to collect on a bounced check, and then when they call threaten you with bodily harm and a trip to jail.
