I received the same letter that others have described, except that in my case, the "prize" was "potentially ONE MILLION DOLLARS" (used for emphasis), but of course, with no "guarantee" of winning anything. Big clue here is that you HAVE to pay for the "award" first -- legitimate contests do not CHARGE you money before you "win" a prize! The letter looks "official", but in my case, I hadn't even entered any contests, and another tip off is that you have a very difficult time even locating any information about the "Award Notification Commission" (sure sounds "official" doesn't it??), coupled with the upfront demand for cash if you want to "verify" your entry.

Please don't be fooled by this letter -- this is only one of several forms of the same rip-off.

Do everyone a favor and contact your State Attorney General's Office, the USPS fraud-by-mail dept. and anyone else that either one of these REAL law enforcement/government agencies ask you to contact. Hopefully, someone will finally be able to stop these crooks.

I am fortunate enough to be too suspcious of stuff like this!
