Your child goes to the mall and is selected. Your child then goes to a screen test and is selected. You go to the production studio and they have you thinking you will be on Disney or something very close to it. They went on and on about how my daughter had all the potential to be a star and had what it takes to be an extra on Disney or one of their shows. Than they hit you up for over $1, 000.

The website has nothing about management and is poorly designed. Complete joke. What talent scout would ever go to this to find someone? Our represenative only had a cell phone and email that was not associated with the website. Met at an old production studio that they must have just rented out for a few hours.

Stay away. They have been doing this in California under other names like Be Productions.

GoBeOnTV= Be.LLC, Gonnabe.com, My Artists Place

AUTHOR: Scammed parent - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, September 10, 2009

GoBeOnTv is indeed the latest incarnation of the scam perpetuated by Erik "EJ" DeSando, carried out in a rental for the day studio or local hotel. Erik runs CA talent businesses by the following names:

My Artists Place
Be, LLC
Gonnabe
My Talent Service

Under the umbrella of Be.LLC, EJ (as well as talent directors/associates Sean and Paige Casamiento, Domingo Ivan Casanas, Barry Falck, and Anthony Corder to name a few), Be offers access to classes and "special events" to prepare your child for a career in the entertainment business.  In CA, Be contracted with Rising Stars/Steps to Stardom LLC run by Christina Ferra and Gene Gilmore to provide instruction in dancing/acting/modeling/singing as its sole and exclusive service provider.

When Be abruptly ceased its operations in Northern CA in April-June of '09, Rising Stars also abruptly left the scene.  Be closed its "NoCal" (as they call it) offices and moved into offices in Tarzana CA--which suddenly closed and retreated into a p.o. box, cell phones, and Skype accounts, now called "My Talent Service".  Though MTS claims it's the service provider for BE, the office consists of former BE and Urge Entertainment (once owned/operated by EJ) employees.  To date, it has yet to restore or fulfill services to "NoCal" families  promised in our signed contracts, despite lip service.

As well as this parent's blog detailing his struggles to get a refund after services were abruptly stopped:

As with all multiuser sites, there's a lot of "chaff" to go through, but there is plenty of "wheat" including information on a current class action suit, past court decisions against EJ, as well as advice on what you can do if you have been a victim of this scam.  Our experience was, if not paid in full, BE LLC sold our financial agreements to Monterey Financial Services  and then deferred to them once refund requests were filed. Monterey has employed some questionable tactics in dealing with BE parents seeking refunds, per individual accounts from parents.

Please visit these boards and share your experiences.  We hate to see other families scammed.
