I was reading what you went through with Bryman Colleges, and I wanted to let you know that it has happened all the way down here in Colorado. Parks College here, is owned by Bryman Schools, of course they just changed their name to Everest College. I have ran into several people, they have all complained about the program they went in, as well as the school.

The thorton, CO branch has had a lawsuit from students from the Radiology program not being certified. They have lied and cheated several people, and now most are unemployeed and broke because of these schools. I am in the process of trying to get my student loans taken care of, or at least half. I feel $10,000 is a lot for a program that didn't teach me anything, and now the program I went to doesn't exist anymore....I find that very annoying, and most jobs I have interviewed for don't know that Parks College had a Massage Program, and I get passed over...a lot. I hope something good happens for you.

While I feel for the original posters situation, I have to respond to one of the comments. Steven said "Ann your wrong about Bryman schools being that bad. If it weren't for Bryman and the other private schools we might not have one half the nurses we have now."

I went to a technical college for my Medical Assistant certificate, the first thing we learned in ethics was we are not Nurses, we are Medical Assistants. There are differences, and you are suppost to make it known that there is a difference. My total education bill was about $4,500, and I went to school everday from 8-3, and the amount of information that I gained was priceless. When I did my intership there was a Bryman student there and I felt real bad, because she didn't seem to have a lot of skills.

I am not trying to be picky but there is a BIG difference.

To the original poster: Have you tried filing a complaint, about the education you recieved, that is really what you should do, and call our Attorney General's office.

First let me state that I am a MALE nursing student. Yes there is a big difference, and there is no paronoia in my 51 year old head about the women picking at the male students. I saw it first hand,and go to allnurse.com and read some of the horror stories the guys have to say.

I went to Riverside College for my LVN certification training, I'll tell you give me Bryman any day.

1.) Job Placement, we never had job placement either, I don't know of anyone who can job place
you, they can help, but not promise. You should have bugged and bugged and bugged if they promised you that.

2.)Your out 6,000? Is that all? Our Bryman in
Southern California charges upward of 20,000,
consider yourself lucky. But the main point here is I am now 19,000 in debt to the Stafford loans plus a private loan, and have nothing to
show for it. I should have went to Bryman first.

3.) At least at Bryman you know you have a seat in a class, not so at public colleges (at least in So Cal), I have known nursing students wondering around campus for 5-6 years trying to get thier prerequerists done, we have to fight with the public students for health sciences we need to get an RN.

4.) I don't know about your state but I had someone talk me out of private school because they told me the Programs at the colleges, would't except the credit from Bryman , but sure as anything when I sat in on a class called, 'Transitioning from LvN to RN', there was at least five bryman grads in the room. I was so pissed off because it was someone from the college that told me they wouldn't accept them.

5.)(and last)At least you found 2 very nice people an instructor who cared. Although I must admit I don't see the corrolation between the one who cared and taught you so much and not being able to do anythin in clinicals. The teachers who care are always helping you gain experience. At my school it was totally different.

We had maybe three very good instructors and all three were there for thier first year. Only one returned the next year. The higher ups in the LVN program made everything as miserable and as hard to pass as they humanly possible. I kid you not, we had 9 guys in our class when we started and only one graduated.

The veteran teachers there were hell bent on not letting males pass.

They even went as far as writting me up 3 times on bogus charges. It started with a 'veteran
clinical clinical instructor who literally bagered me with her big mouth all the way intothe parking lot of the hospital, asking over andover why I had not done a bedbath on some poor teenager who could barely move from stomach surgery. She pushed and pushed until I couldn't take anymore and I let her have it with 'both barrels a blazin'. I really told her what I thought of her and to especially track me into the parking lot on my time. Needless to saythat was the beginning of the end for me. Nothing went right after that and I could tell that all the polder teachers didn't like me too much, even though I usually get along with everyone.

So count your lucky stars that there are schools
like Bryman around who at least take the time to make sure thier student pass.

I for one am going to Bryman in the Fall and happy to be doing it.

Corinthian Colleges Inc. AKA Corinthian Schools Inc. dba Bryman College, Bryman University, Florida Metropolitan University Online, Sequoia Sierra Institute, Wyotech University is a publicly traded company. The bottom line is the almighty dollar.

They could care less if you as an individual lands a job when you have completed your program of study. They are only required by the Department of Education to place a certain percentage of their graduates and they maitain the bottom line. The individual student means absolutely nothing to this corporation.

They will put anyone who can pass an entrance evaluation into almost any course except those courses that require a clean legal record. If you have a record they will just put you into a billing and coding program or medical assisting.

Anyone who plans to go to any of these schools should first talk with former grads, doctors offices, HR departments of Hospitals to see what their requirements are and if they even consider graduates of the school you are considering.

As far as tranferring credits, that is totally up to the accepting instituion whether or not they will accept credits from any other institution.

BIT OF ADVICE: READ YOUR CONTRACT WITH THE SCHOOL BEFORE YOU SIGN OR INITIAL ANYTHING!!!! DO NOT LET YOUR ADMISSIONS REPRESENTATIVE RUSH YOU THROUGH THE PROCESS OR PRESSURE YOU TO "JUST SIGN AND DATE" ANYTHING. LISTEN TO THE RESPONSES YOU GET TO YOUR QUESTIONS, DID THIS PERSON "REALLY" ANSWER YOUR QUESTION OR DID YOU JUST GET A LOT OF DOUBLE TALK? IF YOU GET DOUBLE TALK, RUN AWAY.
