I attended this school after being approached by a person outside of the Employment Office and being told that I would receive training that would get me a job and that I should want to better myself instead of receiving unemployment. I went to the BCTI offices and I was told the same things by them that I should want my family to be proud and that didn't I want the best for my family? I now realize that this was just a ploy to get me into the school, they were preying on people like myself that were down on their luck and unemployed. I was told that I would be able to get a great paying job and that they had connections with the business community in Salem that would hire me after I graduated. They even had us as a class project send out about 200 cover letters to area businesses for potential employment and I never heard back from any of them.

I incurred thousands of dollars in loans from the Department of Education and have been unable to repay any of them and am currently in default status and have had garishments both on my employment pay and on tax refunds resulting from this. I found out that most of the training that I received was actually available free thru Goodwill Industries work training and also frre thru the Unemployment Office jobs program. So why was I duped into paying for the same thing with BCTI? I feel that I should be able to file a suit against them and have my debt. to the Department of Education removed and the amount of money that was garnished returned to me. Because their school is a fraud and the training was worthless and deceptive and I was coerced into attending due to the fact of being unemployed and wanting to have the best for my family.

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Class Action

AUTHOR: Anaisnun - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, September 02, 2012

Not a former employee, but a former graduate of BCTI.

There was a class action lawsuit filed that actually closed 2 years ago.
Many ex students took part in it, and we won.
The settlement wasn't huge, between $2-$6000 per defendant, but we did win.

I'm so sorry you missed the opportunity.
