I entered the M.S. of School Guidance program last year and the school counselors lied to me about several things to get my money. They told me the program would last two years max. I found out it would take me four years at least. They said it didn't matter what classes I took first, it wouldn't affect when I was to graduate.

It did. I couldn't take one course without the other. They said there were a GREAT number of jobs in the field. My first summer attending, all the teachers said you would have to fight to get a job in guidance counseling and would be lucky to land one. All the classes were classes I already had in undergraduate.

They were a complete waste of time and money! I spent $9000 on this school before I realized that they were completely ripping me off. Now I'm in debt and without a good job, but thank goodness. It could have been a lot worse.

One older student told me that it was next to impossible to graduate because of the school ineptness. Every single time I asked for something to be done, (like a catalogue request) it was never done. I had to call five different times before anything was done. Everyone I talked to at the school was VERY rude!! I am sad that I wasted my time, energy, and money on this school. Be VERY careful if you attend this school. They accept anyone because they want your money!!

I am surprised...

I am really surprised by the report presented. I am a student of California Lutheran University right now. The majority of my friends and some of my family members are alumni from there.

CLU tries desperately to get everyone out of the school in 4 years. I think perhaps you just had a very bad counselor or advisor. No one else I know has ever made a comment like this. From day one my advisor made a 4-year plan for me to graduate with. It listed all the classes that I needed, as well as which ones were prerequisites. It couldn't have gotten much easier than that.
