CAPITAL DISTRIBUTION GROUP False Promises of Winning 9000....but you have to send them 19.95 to get it!!! ONTARIO Ontario Canada

I am an intelligent person and thank God I checked the internet before I got scammed with this one!
Please see other reports on this site - I received a letter today 19th December 2007 from this organisation claiming that I was the sole recipient of 9000 and all I had to do was to send cash/cheque/debit or credit card details (including the security code 3 digit number) for 19.95 overseas to Canada and I would receive my cheque either in a lump sum or in 3 installments of 3000 each in January, February and March 07. This did sound too good to be true and I scoured the letter for smallprint of a "catch". I didn't see this "catch", nor did I see any contact details, email or website details to validate the offer.
I have had really bad health for the last 6 months and been very low, having to watch my husband look after the house and kids on his own, whilst I fall asleep on the sofa most evenings fatigued and in pain. This letter, actually raised my spirits for about half an hour! This couldn't be happening to me?? how fantastic! what great good news for a change!!! I filled out the slip and wrote a cheque for the 19.95, thinking that it was a little suspect to have to send them money - why couldn't they just deduct it from my cheque for 9k??? I sat for about half an hour, toying with ringing my husband, smiling broadly, maybe, this was the sign of things looking up???-no!!! I checked the internet and saw that it is an ID SCAM - $*@!!!
